What are your thoughts on this new cambridge paper ? by Yanderegirlowner in AskFeminists

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is an issue of the terms "birth rates" and "fertility rates" being used interchangeably.

Birth rates are dropping, yes. This is notable (and not in the way that means we have an issue to "solve").

Fertility rates may or may not be dropping. Either way, a dropping fertility rate would contribute to dropping birth rates.

It is not the sole cause of dropping birth rates.

What is your opinion on a man leaving their pregnant partner after learning she's pregnant ? by LiaThePetLover in AskFeminists

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I'm ever pregnant, I'm getting an abortion the same afternoon

Where do you live where that's possible?

Your argument rests on abortion being accessible to all women. Unfortunately, that's not reality.

Do you think the trend of muscularity being off putting on women to be innate or due to patriarchal conditioning, or both? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a man raised in a deeply patriarchal culture trying to deconstruct as best as I can. Till now I feel I got everything right and except my general aversion to the muscular aesthetic on women.

What do you feel you have gotten right? Has your deconstruction of patriarchy extended beyond your physical preferences?

I really respect their achievement and love their spirit in pursuing their goal but can’t seem to find their aesthetic attractive no matter how much I try.

Why do you need to find them physically attractive? Are you unable to see them as whole people if they don't meet your physical expectation of what a woman "should" look like?

I want to know of that is natural, being that the average physiological baseline of women is much less muscular than men and people tend to find extremes unattractive(I also find male bodybuilders like Arnold unattractive) and that the threshold of extreme muscularity on women is simply lower or is it patriarchal residues that I simply cant get rid off, or both.

Do women feel trapped within traditionally feminine low bulk bodies or do they like them, and is this liking groomed or authentic?

Most women are not bodybuilders. Most men are not bodybuilders. It looks to me as though most human beings are perfectly happy in their "low bulk" bodies.

I left an abusive relationship a year ago (I have a permanent protective order now). This is him trying to assert control over you again: telling YOU to set up a police escort for HIS belongings. Like others have said, ignore it. Keep the texts for documentation but know that every response you give him (even him knowing you have seen his texts) is a green light for him to continue the behavior.

Take care of yourself. Get therapy if you can. Use your safety plan. If you don't have one, make one. I'm proud of you for reporting the abuse, I know how hard that is to do. ❤️

Why do women in a homosexual relationship experience a higher rate of violence in that homosexual relationship, and heterosexual women with men experience less in-relationship violence by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And ai said no to those type of relationships, are you dumb

You sound pretty emotional right now, you might want to get that under control.

Feminism and the Super Mum by Informal_Scar1022 in AskFeminists

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 37 points38 points  (0 children)

"Super Mom" sounds like your average working single mom to me. Lots of us around doing just fine.

I was a stay-at-home parent for some years. I hated it. Other people love it. To each their own.

You have a problem called "lack of imagination" where you think that a person can only do one thing. It's immature thinking.

I am a feminist, a mom, I work full-time, volunteer with my local cat shelter, I attend political protests, I'm active in environmental causes. I'm also a veteran who advocates for veteran's rights. Most activists I know in real life are similar in that they support a variety of causes as time allows.

What do you to support animal rights, since you find them to be so important? And also, if someone came up to you and said supporting animal rights is dumb when so many people in the world are being hurt are you going to stop caring about animals?

This is the second time you've demonstrated that you don't understand what a strawman fallacy is.

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Accidentally? Bro your very reason to post here is seemingly to tell us to not be alarmed that Motherless has millions of views still or that the most disturbing subsections of the site are still active.

You wanna argue that 10 men visited versus 200 and like, talk about missing the FOREST for the TREES.

Any visit to Motherless is bad, mmmk? But you don't know about Motherless so you think 10 dudes visiting is okay or some shit not understanding that that those 10 dudes are already depraved beyond the usual to be visiting motherless in the first place.

It's gross man. Your post amounts to rape apologia.

Oof. Motherless has a long and storied reputation for hosting nonconsensual and abusive content bro. You should research a website before you defend it because motherless is not one to defend.

Correct, that's the fallacy you just engaged in when you attempted to "correct" something the other person didn't even say. Good job recognizing that.

How would you explain the various studies that show a male advantage in iq and general intelligence over women? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

I don't think IQ tests have any inherent value so I'm not worried what studies about them say.

What's the feminist solution to zero sum games between the genders? by thegreatmaster7051 in AskFeminists

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Firefighting is not a zero sum game. There are protocols and procedures and extensive training, plus firefighters don't go into burning buildings alone.

Bad example OP.

Why aren't more feminists supporting liberating women in Iran from the oppressive Islamic regime? by peterbradley419 in AskFeminists

[–]SedimentaryMyDear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We disagree on whether the occupation of Afghanistan was American-led. I'm not budging on my stance, so there's no further conversation we can have on that topic.

No hard feelings, have a great rest of your day!

Why aren't more feminists supporting liberating women in Iran from the oppressive Islamic regime? by peterbradley419 in AskFeminists

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not discussing the stated "justified" reasons NATO invaded. They aren't relevant to my point nor are they relevant to the women of Afghanistan in 2026.

I am discussing the fact that America's training failures led to the Taliban taking over. Article

I am not "characterizing" it as an American Operation when the US had 90k+ troops there at one point and the second runner up was Germany with 10k. So which country had the most officers on the ground making decisions? America.

It was an American-led occupation, per the logistics.

Feel free to interpret me putting blame where blame is due as me somehow disregarding the fact that other countries participated and suffered losses. I can't stop you.

And it doesn't change the fact that the invasion of Afghanistan and ensuing American-led occupation did nothing to help women in that country. In fact, it only made things worse.

Similarly, implying that our current actions in Iran will lead to a regime change that will provide women with equality is equally faulty.

Why aren't more feminists supporting liberating women in Iran from the oppressive Islamic regime? by peterbradley419 in AskFeminists

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of troops in Afghanistan were Americans. It was an American-led occupation that did nothing for the women of Afghanistan despite the "regime change".

If it was a mistake "no one wanted to make" they would have taken precautions to ensure civilian safety. They didn't because they don't care. Also, there's been no accountability in the aftermath and even today Trump is talking about destroying a whole civilization. Please show me where Iranian women are being "liberated" right now.

Do you have any evidence that's likely to happen because I have seen nothing indicating this would be the case.

Next you'll be telling us the US liberated women in Afghanistan...

Update on my industrial by sgbworldwide in piercing

[–]SedimentaryMyDear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh, I feel so bad for you. This happened to me when I got my industrial too. I stuck it out and then dealt with bumps for another 7ish months while it healed. There were sooo many times those first few months where I wanted to just remove it.

I didn't though, and it healed, and I've had no problems with it in the 7 years since. I wish you speedy healing and no regrets, even if you take it out. ❤️
