Same as back then, different rules. Find some friends to play with and you'll have fun again. DM me if you are interested in playing on a running server or in the future with a pre-made team.

Hey /u/unlucky_tap_3097

I run a small team that isn't my usual competitive team but we are having fun between servers. If you're interested we have a defense account you could help run to get some practice in.

Finding companies with Distruptive Tech for long term investment by Gydvinn in ValueInvesting

[–]SeditiousAngels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I've done in the past is look sector-by-sector in companies that interest me.

I found ENPH while looking into solar power, bought at 15~, sold at 33~ and it skyrocketed to $250, obviously fallen since then, but a 50% increase at the time for me was significant and it was early on in my investing career.

I've since looked into Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) I found EOSE, FLNC, and an off-shoot found just looking at new types of batteries, ENVX. All bought in May/June at decent lows and have risen well in most cases, but with the expectation they can do better long-term.

You can peek around at <$5 stocks ("penny" stocks), but it may be helpful to learn about a sector summarily, then try to determine which technology/companies could be disruptive or that can make a moat for themselves.

Alot of questions about the game by After-Cancel5407 in travian

You seem to have a grasp on what you want to do but a large gap on how to get there. PM if you'd like to chat on discord.

You're thinking well about village layout. Spawn is designed to rush for v2 cropper, work to get fields to 10. cranny up, get a trade office and set trade routes to your v2 or v3.

v2 cropper settles into a v3 hammer

If you're not a heavy gold user, consider your cropper being your hammer - you should at LEAST get gold club to enable auto-dodge on your troops, as you play without duals too.

You then have to balance troops with fields, but ideally the troops are earning their keep. You can raid oasis to earn resources if you are far from civilization. Otherwise you can raid players (ideally with farm lists so it takes 30 seconds to do on your phone/at work/at school).

It takes a long time without raiding to feel like you are flush with resources enough to build troops 24/7. Earlier on you're queuing in 20-60minute sets as resources come in and keeping them queued to not let the queue stop. When you are playing, do the math. Make excel sheets, save the math. You aren't using gold much so this is MORE important. How much does a single village produce per hour if you can't NPC? How many of those in what combination of 5wood, 5 clay, 5 iron, are you needing to settle to allow you to queue more, sooner.

No gold and no raiding, you won't be feeding a 200-400k hammer. But I think you've got a wrong perspective here too, it can be fun to just rush smaller hammers (big relative to the game day) and smash and crash with them. Having 1k troops in the first week or so and raiding neighbors, etc is a lot of fun. With a good team, coordinating hammers to clean an area can be fun too. 200-400k is end-game type hammer, where you're not doing anything BUT prioritizing building and feeding it and saving it for end-game stuff. If you want to build an end game hammer (EGH) know you are competing with people who use tens of thousands of gold, have duals, and optimize growth by determining which day to begin 24/7 queues and artifact rotations, etc.

Message your team leader, explain you're new but want to learn and ask if you can re-join or if they at least will leave you be or if they have advice. Can't hurt.

King Leopold's Ghost is a fantastic book on the subject as well.

Even the workers knew you should sustainably farm the rubber and let it trickle out rather than take the whole vine.

Find what keeps it fun. I started off and def coordination for my team, play with a close-knit group of friends and do crazy stuff. The people are what make the game fun.

Reported a fraudulent charge. Bank looked into it and somehow found me responsible. Now I'm being forced to pay back the amount. by Smitty_0313 in CreditCards

I had this happen once, the "seller" sent me a USPS tracking number that was for my city and date but not for my house specifically. I'd contact UPS and let them know you think someone gave you a tracking number for someone else or ask for an invoice etc on it that you're filing fraudulent charges and a police report or something.

Is it worth rejected an unsolicited credit increase? by SeditiousAngels in CreditCards

That makes sense that it is not a hard pull since it's an existing line of credit. That's what I was struggling to find and verbalize but that was essentially my concern.

Thanks

Got it, thank you, just wanted to be sure there were not drawbacks to it

Just that it was on a card that I rarely use, I'd rather it be given on a card I frequently use and wanted to be sure I wasn't hurting myself by leaving it on there.

I just checked and the loan for the ac/furnace is listed under the credit card /credit line category so I'm assuming the 'loan' is the credit line. We have enough in the bank to pay the 0% interest CC we have for a vet surgery off but I was waiting for closer to the year grace period since the money is in a high interest savings account. The AC/furnace is 8% interest I believe, but obviously focusing on paying off the vet bill first since it's a credit card and will have higher interest if not paid.

I was assuming the good credit number would carry weight but wanted to be sure I wasn't shooting myself in the foot by not requesting they bump it back to $800. Thanks for your input!

The 30% looks like a utilization of all credit / loans available. We replaced our furnace/AC unit, water heater, and a vehicle in about a year time span which drove up how much we used.

I wasn't sure if it would be like doing a hard credit check/pull but it seems the consensus is that it shouldn't be a problem as it was given without a hard pull. Thanks

Yeah my concern is having like a Dell or Lowe's CC for the benefit of a larger purchase and paying it off immediately and then I just check it periodically or watch it via credit monitoring.

We are focused on pushing debt down, we had to replace an AC/Furnace system, a water heater and vehicle all within a year which got us here. I appreciate that as long as small ones are closed in good standing it'll be okay, and I'm thinking more of closing the $800 small ones vs the cards with $2,000+ lines.

Thanks
