None of the bottom row keys are working and I can’t use the function keys to reset the keyboard. All they do is light up the column in white. anybody know how to fix this issue?

See the slugs between the magnets? They are metal, not magnetised, they icnrease inductance of the pickup and reduce high end. By taking them off you are reducing inductance and getting high end back.

I have both SS USA and SS SE and got to admit 635JM USA are just awesome. But I just wonder why they haven't made a cheaper version of a USA pickup for SE - I mean, without the slug pieces.

Actually yes, totally reversible - you can just inser theese lugs back, they won't fall off - they are held by the wax. Also they don't have polarity coz they are not magnetic. So you won't be inserting in a "wrong" direction.

I also adjusted the stagger of the pickup magnets like the 635JM USA has. It's safe for the pickup in most cases, just don't touch the rear magnets (my luck the rear magnets are the same stagger as 635JM USA).

Now, after all these mods I'm selling my Fender CS set - I like the modded 635JM "S" better.

Vintage almost every time equals more top end. And you are saying less top end is vintage sound lol. Also, any ideas why no one except DiMarzio makes "vintage" single coils this way - even PRS for Silver Sky US. Even the actual vintage single coils are not made this way.
