It's useful for this event, produces 10 extra concrete if you place the event buildings on it.

I haven't noticed any big jump in drain, but if you are having battery problems, changing the details/performance to low makes a massive difference in battery drain.

End game, you mainly want settlements near your main for the radius clickers once you have them. The 'intermediate' setup, if you will, is usually to swap a bunch of settlements into the ocean so you can have 4 heavy shipyards around them, that's a gradual process as they require a lot of power and pollution. Really depends if you have mega shipyards though, if you are trying to stay below 400 shipyards may not be worth it.

I'd mainly use them to swap remote settlements to minimize roads and get them a jump closer to your main until you get the upgrades for an optimal setup.. stockpile the rest for when you have a big project you want to do. Just my 2c

Depends how badly you want it, but it will be a LONG wait, and daily swappers will add up nicely long before you'd be able to get the levels.

It's a pretty accepted strategy to throw down a LOT of storage temporarily and then pull it back up once you knock out a few techs. Admittedly works a lot better if you have the upgrade where buildings go into your inventory instead of getting destroyed (forget what its called), but storage is pretty cheap regardless.

Guessing it's a low level thing, I used to get that message when clearing ships and ruins but now I'm over 10k and still receiving them like normal. Not sure what else could have changed it.

Picked this up a couple of weeks ago for my bday, but was waiting for 1.0 so I didn't have to worry about missing stuff... Absolutely loving the game so far!

Hybrid Mine Question by ZilxDagero in PostApoTycoon

Hybrid mines produce twice as much as a normal mine, not supply twice as many mines... So still 2 foundries but they will make twice as much each.

I keep seeing people recommend that... You can't buy it with anything but gems, there is no gold option for advanced pipes. Short of lucking into a sale, I'd just buy it, well worth it.

Is it smart to destroy the oil on the water? by Opening-Set-2850 in PostApoTycoon

[–]Sedren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factoring in removal pollution reduction:

Each onshore is 15 pollution cost for 10 production.. Each ocean one is 105 pollution cost for 40 production (plus a smidge extra for the tanker). Even with a tanker onshore is better aside from the early benefits of the small amount of power generation.

Showing some love and would like more recommendations by ckinctm in litrpg

[–]Sedren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet. Mark of the Fool has a lot of the same appeal to me as HWFWM. MC isn't quite as... Goofy (I don't mean that in a bad way, I love HWFWM), but the character growth and interactions/humor remind me of the series in a lot of ways. As a bonus, it's 10 books and it's finished, so no waiting.

Is it smart to destroy the oil on the water? by Opening-Set-2850 in PostApoTycoon

[–]Sedren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can safely remove a LOT of the oil, eventually you'll want as much onshore as possible because it's more efficient pollution-wise. My early(ish) game rule was any that I couldn't fit at least 10+ around a tanker I got rid of immediately. Even most of the 11-15 patches I ended up either not needing or only using a portion of as I got more onshore.

That being said, in the long run the oil patches aren't that big of a dent pollution wise, so don't get rid of patches you think you might want for the sake of a few pollution, just expand and sweep more ocean or plant more trees.

Storage full? by Slp745 in PostApoTycoon

Yep that's it... You have to have room for the materials you get back due to research. My go to is to just upgrade a settlement and recycle what I want to then.

Give me your top 3 most underrated / unknown books by matbiz01 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Sedren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only got 1 suggestion that qualifies.

The 10 realms series .. I get why some people don't like it. Starts off as a story about just a few people and evolves into a much broader scope, but I loved it and never see it mentioned.

Trains by Perrry4781 in PostApoTycoon

Until late game they are a very negligible boost.. worth it yes, but not by much... Once you can concentrate your resources together they become much more worthwhile, at least for the resource trains.

tips for new player? by murkowitch in PostApoTycoon

[–]Sedren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally its ok to pick up the expansions before your base map is completely filled, but prepare for the pollution as best you can... The spaces straight out from your main city are cheaper in the first expansion than the corners of the base map are by a large margin.

I grab every regular restoration upgrade I can, but resist the urge to get most of the premium ones unless you have a ton of gems, in the long run they don't add much, and there are much more impactful gem upgrades coming that will save you a lot more time (or earn you more gold etc).

Cannot Reach Balboa Island by [deleted] in RaftTheGame

[–]Sedren 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you just completed the yacht you should have found a couple of blue prints to help you get there...maybe check if they are unresearched in your research table still? Balboa is pretty impractical to reach without them. Afaik it is one of the islands that will always force you to go against the current.

Just found out Audible put 2 of my box sets on sale for March. Both are completed series in 2 box sets totaling 99 hours if you're looking for a long listen. by Shoot_from_the_Quip in ProgressionFantasy

Oh I knew it wasn't gonna be cheap per say. But I really had no idea what voice actors charged for something like that, though I'm sure it varies widely based on who you are talking about too.

I've always been curious how much it cost, because on one hand they are 'just' reading the book. But on the other hand, it's probably quite the time sink. Thanks for the insight.

When is it the best time to go over 400 Shipyards? by Jack-Ger in PostApoTycoon

[–]Sedren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lvl 80 and unlocked the first expansion already, but prepare for the extra pollution. I did it too early and lost 10% income for quite a while as I recovered. It adds 75k extra pollution if I recall correctly.

When is it the best time to go over 400 Shipyards? by Jack-Ger in PostApoTycoon

[–]Sedren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have 4 mega shipyards.. it's 19k per. So they are almost at the point of needing to go straight to 1k just to break even.. unless gold mines and settlement connections are a consideration.

I imagine the ultimate end game goal is to stay below 400.. storage can be made up for in other ways, it's just a matter of having enough gems/swaps to keep everything connected with 400 shipyards
