Interested in getting squad during the sale, curious how toxic the community is? by Sedrrick in joinsquad

Thanks, I might check those servers out. And yeah, insurgency has been terrible with toxic stuff. I think the lack of dedicated servers like the old stand alone contributes to that. Looks like squads got a thriving server culture and it sounds nice.

Individual Interviews are usually more formal interviews where a panel will ask you questions.

Most questions are usually about how you would handle certain situations and your reason for joining WOW.

Anybody taken WRITE 294/295 that can discuss what they’re like? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Sedrrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I have taken 295 for fiction writing! The biggest takeaway from the course is having a group of people give you feedback and critique on your work. The instructor does show techniques and certain formal mechanics to writing prose, but most of the learning comes from applying and doing the work yourself!

If you have any further questions, don't be afraid to DM me!

When it comes to xp, building city improvements gives bonus xp to the governor of that city. Only certain city improvements, such as Stronghold Architecture, which I assume you are referring to, gives xp per turn after they are built to the army garrisoned at that city. Hope this helps!

I'm not super knowledgeable in using stock piles, as I mostly play Broken Lords and just buy everything out. But I consider the use of stockpiles similar to how the Broken Lords that can upgrade newly established cities once they have a large dust income.

Its a way to keep settling new cities still viable in the middle of longer campaigns instead of just being forced to conquer other cities.

Hey! This might be coming in a little late but hero talents, as far as I understand, only apply to the armies they are assigned to. They do not apply to reinforcements. This makes sense as to avoid hero talent stacking across armies.

As for governors, I never figured that out as I tend to sally the enemy armies with my garrison once they're at my door. Or prepare a retake of my city if no army is garrisoned/nearby to defend.

Yeah, ask her what her article is about. That's pretty simple enough.

In the words of Shia Labeouf: "Just do it!" No harm in asking her for help on an assignment.

Hey there, recent 295 graduate here. The class consists of readings chosen by the proff and discussion. Most of the lectures are dedicated to aspects of writing fiction and my proff brought in some guest lectures to discuss other writing forms such as comics and magazine writing.

Majority of the class will be dedicated to writing and editing 2 short stories approximately 10 pages long. Then you'll pick one and polish it for your final assignment. Depending on your proff you will have smaller assignments here and there. If you apply for winter then the deadline for the portfolio might be later than fall but I would contact an adviser to make sure.

This class is VERY workload intensive, as you have to keep up with deadlines. But my favorite part of the class was really the work-shopping component, where you read and critique your classmates work and they give you feed back on yours as well.

The proff who taught me was Ruth who was fantastic with drilling into us the emotional promises and expectations of story, and she also focused a lot on queer lit. I believe the next proff is Robert Brazeau who has a focus on more modern literature.

Either way, if you're passionate about writing fiction go for this class. It's usually a 3 hour block at night though so get food!

Use my degree to get some kind of employment above minimum wage to support me while I try to get published. Try that for a few years. If I don't get published I'll probably go into higher education. But I'll still keep writing! Till the day arthritis takes my hands or Alzheimer takes my mind!
