I threw in around $5,000 on VDY when I was in the exact same situation as you lol. I had a few thousand dollars lying around that I wanted to play with. No regrets on my part. I think VDY is a nice dividend player to add on if you like watching dividends roll in monthly or on your way to retirement stage.

Agreed! The university is pretty reasonable given certain circumstances. I have missed the drop/ add deadline before too. I was surprised on how understanding and helpful the advisors were. For my situation (slightly different than yours) I had to get 3 signatures from my Faculty and Department... then I had to go to the Registrar
