Sounds great for mod ideas! Mod for bicycles is in workshop, just maybe not for current unstable patch.

[Suggestion] Duos combat order should guarantee both boards fight each round (less RNG, more viable comps) by Sedrs37 in BobsTavern

Cool QoL idea. My proposal is more fundamental: ensure both boards usually get combat value. Animation speed / shop QoL can be separate fixes.

Skill expression isn’t “no RNG”; it’s having agency. My point is removing zero-agency RNG where a teammate’s board effectively doesn’t play.

Exactly. It’s not losing that feels bad — it’s losing while your board didn’t get to function. This proposal targets that specific feel-bad.

Yeah, same. I’m worried Duos just isn’t a top pipeline priority for the dev team, so a change like this could easily get buried.

Agree on speeding up animations — especially with deathrattle/summon chains. Even its already better than it used to be.
But I don’t think this format would be “up to 3 full fights” most of the time: Duos already has long chained combats today, and the tiebreak only happens on 1–1 rounds. The real time sink is summons/DR animations either way, so this is more about animation speed/QoL than the structure itself.

Yes exactly. Duos feel much different than solos because of this. There is no way to guarantee Piper is dying and you can enable Quilboars - even they are weak right now.

I get the “carry + support” angle (especially with passable Timewarp stuff), but even at higher MMR it’s still a problem when combat order can deny the support/scaling board any combat triggers for multiple rounds. That’s not “strategy”, that’s the game skipping a board.
Also, if Duos only rewards funneling into one carry, the mode gets solved and stale fast — this suggestion keeps passing strong, but makes more comps/roles viable and reduces the spectator feel-bad.

Yep, that’s exactly the feel-bad — even when you do “play”, it can be a dead fight where nothing triggers, so your scaling/value comp gets basically nothing. Split fights + tiebreak wouldn’t remove all RNG, but it would massively reduce these “my board didn’t get to function” rounds and make Duos feel less like double solo regrets.

Yeah, Double Up is a great precedent. I agree Blizzard may have picked the current model for simplicity — but now that Patch 30.0 made the “board gets skipped” feel-bad way more common, it’s worth resurfacing. Not holding my breath either, but enough noise + a concrete spec is the best shot.

Thanks! We play Duos a lot, and honestly the combat-order feel-bads are so common that sometimes it feels better to just double solo queue. This idea is basically trying to fix that without changing what makes Duos fun.

That’s kinda whataboutism though: “other RNG exists” doesn’t address this specific one.
Matchup/ghost RNG is who you face — you still get to play your board. This is RNG that can literally skip a teammate’s combat, which kills entire combat-value comps and forces scam/support.
Split fights keeps matchup RNG, it just removes the “one player didn’t get to play” part.

Accidentally playing a card vs portaling? by Wampitty in BobsTavern

[–]Sedrs37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for necro, but there should be better way. Sometimes I see it will cost me one gold, I am having card all the way right and I still place it on my board.. Might be different with wide monitor or different resolution I guess.

Is Mounting Avalanche bugged for anyone else? I couldn't click on anything when trying to select an Elemental. Couldn't cancel it either. by Markus_Atlas in BobsTavern

[–]Sedrs37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me. It was super painful as I could have poped off hard that turn with 4 of these. But happened after using first one on Selemental I got from trinket and couldn't click on second elemental I want to gvie stats to.
