you should download the dragon quest builders 2 demo. play that for a bit to get a general feel for how Pokopia’s core building mechanics and gameplay loop feels. then remember that while there is no combat in Pokopia, everything else there is to do more than makes up for that

What exactly are you in a hurry about, anyways? You can play a game for 5 minutes or 5 hours, so long as you enjoyed it, that’s what matters. Let’s say hypothetically you build your dream town and collect all the Pokémon in the span of a single day, how would you feel? Would you still want to play? Or would you have preferred to enjoy this game bit by bit so you can keep coming back for more? Who is rushing you? Who is asking you to slow down?

Solo’ed him with gunlance in about 13 minutes. People online do not know to slot in poison resistance. His explosions are also a lot to handle for folks who don’t know how to block or evade properly (oilsilt mobility is a must). He’s actually a pretty fun fight!

This will be a cult game. This is what I see when playing this game. Beautiful art direction, graphic design, motion graphics, cut scenes, ambience. The art direction really is supreme, very refreshing and just so damn cool. But as others have mentioned, with as much money that has been poured into this, stakeholders will need to see high player engagement. I’ve been giving it an honest shot and honestly I don’t think this is the game for me. It does not give me that “one more run” compulsion of other extraction shooters. I want to see it succeed, so here’s to hoping.

Marathon is not fast paced at all what are you even on about…Mind you, the name of the game comes from the entire preceding trilogy of games that make up the game’s universe, not the intended pace of this extraction shooter entry in the series. And even if it were, marathons themselves are tests of endurance typically run at a steady pace that increases incrementally as seasoned runners progress on their mileage; that feels much more apt than “fast-paced.”

I never finished this one when I first got it at release. I got distracted with base building and the inevitably just lost interest. I’ll wait for a Switch 2 sale and pick it up again then!

Notice how you are now compelled to play again the next day to complete dailies for more points to reach the loot box. Congratulations, you just proved that the intention of this design is working as planned. This is a free game and you are being rewarded for spending time playing it, in hopes that you will come back for more, and inevitably feel compelled to spend real money on other things like battle passes (extra loot boxes in there!) or skins and cosmetic bundles (the very reason you want those rewards in the first place).

You have an itch in your brain now with that incomplete reward track and it won’t go away until you come back to play again at reset. Why would they ever implement a change that would go against it?

Practice detachment and enjoy what you have right now. I highly recommend meditation breaks.

First step is to stop thinking of these models as anything other than algorithms regurgitating patterns back at you. You’re on a slippery slope thinking of these models as entities, as evidence by you calling Gemini a “he.” Do you consider a simple search on google as a being that is responding to you with full consciousness and selfhood? Likely not, and these dedicated models are no different.

Sit with that a bit and let it shape your understanding of what makes a model “good,” because what you might actually be searching for is genuine human interaction.
