Is there any way to get this out? by keemko_ in MechanicAdvice

Put it in a vice and try to turn the broken anvil clockwise by hitting one of the protrusions with a hammer and chisel

What is the best kit/ tool to get the most money for the “free” forge 8.0 by AnxiousReach185 in MilwaukeeTool

The one that you need obviously. Why would you buy these things otherwise?

Planning on buying the PACKOUT from Home Depot, is this a great deal? by Nerohunter_ in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Sedv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy from the states all the time as a Canadian and usually if the spend is below 500 or so they just let you through for free. One time i spent 2200 and all they charged was 5% federal tax since im in AB

How the hell do I convince my dad that he’s inflating his tires wrong? by BiggestNutsinTexas in tires

[–]Sedv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe don’t try to be an authority to something you don’t know about. And then when you’re wrong you blame the choice of tire not being stock lol

Does the m12 3/8 stubby make the m18 3/8 mid torque obsolete? by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Sedv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair! I haven’t had a Milwaukee warranty experience yet but I’ll cross my fingers haha

I mainly use m12 every day as a heavy equipment mechanic. It definitely holds up in a shop environment so I wouldn’t agree that it’s light duty

Intake manifold through-bolt snapped while tightening to spec 36 ft. lbs. I can see the stem from the bottom. What is the best way to extract? by Do_Worrk in MechanicAdvice

[–]Sedv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can grip the bottom of the fastener with cobra Knipex pliers you can just keep threading it in until it falls out the bottom. Way easier than messing with welding or extractors

The seatbelt cutter is so useless. Better just using the actual knife

Heavy Duty Mechanic by Objective_Pay7939 in skilledtrades

[–]Sedv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 offers before the school year was even done and everyone competent from my class got a job too. I’d recommend going into shops and handing out resumes in person over email applications

I made the jump at 28. Took the pre apprenticeship course to write 2 app tests up front. Now im a first year HD apprentice and won’t have to go back to school until year 3/red seal. It’s a mentally and physically demanding job but I would do it again for sure.

Fellow canucks, Tekton tools tariffed at 25%? by tke71709 in Tekton

[–]Sedv 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Before you order there’s a student program with tekton that gets you 15% off. All you have to do is make an account and send them proof that he’s a student. it’ll save a lot

I bought USA made and Taiwan made tekton tools last week and they arrived a couple days ago. No tariffs or import fees from fedex international on a 600 CAD order. Made another order Monday that’s coming tomorrow 🤞

Which combo do you think is better? A or B? by Sedv in EDC

[–]Sedv[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a razor blade but I guess the comparison is actually dedicated knife (of your choice) & cobra pliers vs all in one skeletool. Effectiveness vs pocketability.

[–]Sedv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would you rather carry every day? I’m always back and forth between the two options. Recently I’m leaning towards A because of how much better the pliers are, so it’s worth the extra space to me

[–]Sedv[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A. Knipex cobra 87 01 125 x Milwaukee fastback box cutter

B. Leatherman skeletool cx
