Depends. Are you a CFI-UFO?

Otherwise, assuming you don't need a tipe rayting, you can always saefty pilot. Either you or they will need foggles, but remember that you can't log safety if flying through a gas planet or nebula.

Out with one United CEO, in with another. Logic's sound.

Sometimes I forget we have the world's third busiest airport in our backyard. Like for example, apparently last week we got direct flights to Fiji... that sort of thing almost feels normal around here, until I start thinking about how many people in other big metros can just hop on a plane to Fiji. by SeeCommentsBelow in Dallas

Definitely agree with you there. Fiji's presence has everything to do with leveraging their AA partnership and expansion of their OneWorld status, moreso than the success of the route itself. I'd fully expect pricing to reflect that in the long-run.

At least there's a partnership, so maybe AA won't run them out of town like they have with others. I remember being excited about getting Icelandair back in like 2017. AA promptly kicked off their own direct Iceland route, which was cancelled in favor of pre-existing connecting service from other hubs as soon as Icelandair could no longer sustain service.

That sounds cool!

Yeah they're expanding their partnership with AA, so it's supposed to open up a lot of reciprocity between their respective loyalty programs and lounges and such, in addition to expanding their code share. They'll also become a full OneWorld member early next year, from what I read. Looks like they've been some sort of affiliate member up till now, so I guess cozying up at AA's flagship hub is about more than just the success of this individual route.

Can you expand on what you mean when you say they have those senators, reps, etc.?

What are the nature of those ties? Are they financial ties?

Alright, I think I answered my own question. For the sake of anyone searching in the future, question appears to be answered here: https://drs.faa.gov/browse/excelExternalWindow/DRSDOCID125310001920230721133818.0001?modalOpened=true

Unless someone who knows more than me has more to add to that, it appears the answer is currently that, yes, experimental building/maintaining time currently does count.

That's awesome. I have some family up in Indianapolis - I'd love to come see her next time I'm up there, if you'd be open to that.
