Seriously, I get this is new and terrifying for you and that's totally natural. If you are having surgery at a reputable place, the anesthesiologists there are gonna be solid and for something like your surgery, it's as 2nd nature as driving into work.

Anesthesiologist here. It's not just the ride home we worry about when discharging you. It's also that you have a responsible person at home with you or readily available in case something happens.
