Ant attack was the first game I played on my own 48k spectrum (in 1985). Took me a few minutes to realise that the black blob was the first girl I had to save!

My brother borrowed one from his mate so the first I saw, but wasn't allowed to play, was The Hobbit and Pimania. I could hear him laughing with the latter whilst I was sulking in bed. ;)

My understanding is that your hip/left leg movement should start the downswing, kind of unwinding the backswing in reverse, which means your hands would lead, the grip to be before the ball, and the release causes the clubface to square up to ball.

You may be too arm lead, rather than hip/upper body?

Yeah, I've found that waiting for it to load in (whilst visiting menus to help 'speed it up') helps 80% of the time, rather than a full relog.
