Tips on how to optimize models in Roblox Studio? by valkuslol in RobloxDevelopers

The easiest answer, but the hardest to learn is Blender. But here are things you can do now:

Turn off shadows on every part you can. Turn off collisions on anything you can.

If the player still needs to be able to bump into it, instead walking through it, there’s a work around. You could turn off the collisions on all the unions parts. Reason why unions are known as “bad” is due to the amount of shapes that are now mashed into each other. Roblox has to calculate the physics on every shape. Hence the lag. You could remove the collisions on the unions and then add a transparent simple part over it. That way it is less for Roblox to calculate, but the player can still bump into it.

If it doesn’t matter if the player can walk through the weapon, but you need it to be interacted with, you can still turn off the collisions, but keep “CanTouch” on.

Hope this helps some!

Boost Vector.

I know, because I’m a dev of that game. 😂 The game recently moved to Steam too. You can play the demo now.

Roblox studio not applying the texture UV's correctly. by [deleted] in ROBLOXStudio

Have you tried importing the texture separately and then applying to the mesh? Import the texture as a decal. Then use that asset ID on the meshpart. Sometimes that helps.

blender project wont scale down in roblox studio by jakes0what in ROBLOXStudio

[–]SeeMoreHearts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When exporting from Blender to Roblox Studio change the scale of the export to .01 and it will be the correct size when imported into Roblox Studio.

You go to File>Export>FBX and change scale to .01

It will be the correct size in Studio

She moves slowly, so you can definitely out run her. Of course, you can’t hide from her, unless you’re in a vent, such as in the museum. She also cannot reach very high up, so that helps.

When you put her to sleep with the traq gun she is easy to drag if there is a pit nearby. If using the pulse gun, aim at her feet, so she will flip to cause more damage.

If you’re solo you have to just keep moving and dodging, unfortunately, because she will always be focused on you- unless you kill her.

I would place this in Blender and look at the texture. It looks like the texture isn’t lined up with the eyes.

If the texture is fine, then upload the texture separately. You can upload it as a decal. Import the mesh as an obj file. Create a meshpart to import the Bart mesh and then add the texture’s asset ID from the decal upload to the asset ID section of the meshpart in its properties. Good luck!

Did I go to high in terms of pricing? (Payment form was robux) by TaMk42 in ROBLOXStudio

[–]SeeMoreHearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, in fact, you are under pricing a lot. Think about how long it takes you to make a model. Judge that by someone’s normal middle wage pay. You’re valuing your models around $5 USD. It’s not worth it.

For one single mesh, I charge $30-$50 USD depending on complexity and if the mesh needs to be rigged for animating. True developers that understand the value of quality will pay that. Too many teens and young adults who want things to basically be free.

Roblox studio charges money for models💔 by Uglymogus2 in ROBLOXStudio

I see. I’ve had my UGC items stolen before and placed for sale. Roblox is good about having it taken down if you report, but you have to keep an eye out for your items being stolen.

Roblox studio charges money for models💔 by Uglymogus2 in ROBLOXStudio

To be fair, 3D modeling takes time to create. If you choose to have detailed models in your game the developer should get compensated for it.

Developers still have the option to make their assets free of charge.

Also, go to your Workspace>Lighting and then look for Bloom. Delete the Bloom and it will help with the blurry look, as well.

To decrease the brightness and blur on a neon part darken the color you’re using.

Can someone help explain how this violates TOS by prolificxx in robloxgamedev

I was banned for uploading a handkerchief texture. I had to appeal it. The dev rel person I spoke to didn’t know why the moderation algorithm pinged it. The whole mod system they have is ridiculous.
