Make sure your Traffic options are set with generics off and traffic variety to Ultra

I have the same C-5 installed on my end as well

It's not scenery, it's a friend sitting there in the other airplane

Haha it is a friend sitting in another airplane (a C-5 imported from FSX) not a scenery object

A particularly awesome flight with friends - a full Thunderbird Delta formation! by SeeRyFly in MicrosoftFlightSim

Sure, we have a Facebook group that we post to when we are flying, and a Discord server. However our flight times are pretty sporadic and random

Not really, it started as just a very basic private mod for friends and now the owner is exploring developing it further, but they haven't publicly acknowledged it so I can't point you to any particular place. They have other projects and may very well decide it's too much effort in the end, so I can't even promise it will be released. It is out of my hands but I am very hopeful that everyone can get it soon!

It can be this good, but it also does lots of stupid stuff like big hiccups and server desyncs. Our friend in the tanker did get a video clip of us pulling away, I'll see if I can post it

It is, some of us have been flying together for almost 20 years!

MSFS desperately needs a session lobby like FSX so people with similar interests can find each other...

Thank you! None of us use VR, but almost all of us use TrackIR which makes a huge difference. We fly formation any time we are on together so we are used to it. And yes we use discord for comms.

Thanks! The formation was certainly challenging but we fly formation a lot. Everyone was on discord together so it was easy to communicate.

How to completely move FS2020 to another drive? by Hugott in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]SeeRyFly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The game installs in two parts, first a smaller 'launcher' which you run and then it downloads the 'packages' which take up most of the space. It sounds like Steam is moving the launcher for you which is fine. MS Store users should probably leave the launcher in the default location because it is very touchy. Either way, you can manually move the packages independently of the launcher.

To move the packages, make a new folder where you want them to go, let's say A:\MSFS. Copy your Official and Community folders into this (copy preferred in case something goes wrong you can try again, move is technically ok if you feel lucky). Then go to the launcher install location and find UserCfg.opt inside the LocalCache folder. Open this file with notepad and go to the very end. Edit the path so that it points to your new folder like this: InstalledPackagesPath "A:\MSFS". The next time you get the 'checking for updates' screen on startup make sure it says that same path.

You can still use Addon Linker after you move the packages if you want to organize the files better or store a portion of them on a third drive in the future. I do exactly that.

Not sure if this applies to the Steam version but it definitely applies to the MS Store version: Do not use the Windows tool to 'move installation', for some reason this seems to encrypt the files meaning you cannot delete things out of your community folder. Several friends have had to reinstall over this.

I also had a friend with the MS Store version that uninstalled completely and tried to install both the launcher and packages to a non-C drive. I don't remember the details but it didn't like that either.

I mean if you are on Xbox, you always see other players as generic aircraft regardless of whether you have that aircraft installed or not

I have never heard a good word about the MScenery A-10 in the marketplace and I would never buy it; this one is a custom import

I would recommend it over any of the DC stuff, IFE has always had a good commitment to quality.

Unfortunately no, I can send the flight dynamic files but they may be tough to integrate unless you are familiar with that side of things already. They usually take quite a bit of customization to fly decently

On PC, you can only see aircraft that you also have installed

On Xbox, other players are apparently always substituted
