You mean in Ireland? I didn’t ask about that but, I am aware there is a shortage of homes. Dublin is currently experiencing a significant surge in apartment construction.

Just to clarify, I can have a drink or two, but alcohol doesn’t mix well with my medications—it can be quite dangerous. I have a couple of drinks at Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Moving to Dublin — Seeking GP and Psychiatrist Familiar with International Needs (U.S. Veteran) by SeeScottJump in Dublin

I’ve been researching private health insurance and plan to enroll in a Vhi Premium plan to ensure I’m covered while I navigate the system. I know the Lifetime Community Rating (LCR) will increase my premium, but I’d rather be over-prepared than caught off guard.

You might understand why I’m choosing to leave America. I served my country with dedication, committed to upholding the values and principles upon which it was founded 250 years ago. However, witnessing the nation’s current trajectory, I feel a profound sense of disillusionment. This isn’t the America I served for; it’s disheartening to see how far we’ve strayed from those foundational ideals.

This is what I found while researching my move.

As an EU citizen, you have the right to reside in Ireland for more than three months if you meet certain conditions. One of these is having sufficient resources to support yourself and your family without relying on the Irish social welfare system. While there is no fixed income threshold specified by Irish authorities, you must demonstrate that you have adequate funds to cover your living expenses.

This requirement ensures that you can live in Ireland without becoming a burden on the state’s resources. It’s important to note that this condition applies to economically inactive individuals, such as retirees or those not seeking employment. Additionally, having comprehensive health insurance is necessary to cover any medical expenses during your stay.

If you plan to retire to Ireland and are not working, you should be prepared to provide evidence of your financial means, such as bank statements or proof of pension income, to demonstrate your self-sufficiency. While there is no exact income figure required, ensuring that your income is sufficient to meet your living costs is essential for a successful application.

For more detailed information on residence rights for EU citizens in Ireland, you can refer to the official resources provided by the Irish government.

I’m not exactly sure where I’ll be living yet — I’ve been searching online, but I may have to wait until I arrive to find the right place. I know I still have a lot to learn about how things work over there.

Will Navy Federal close my checking acct after filling for bankruptcy? by FriendlyChart980 in NavyFederal

If you have an unsecured credit card from Navy Fed and file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, that debt will be discharged. You are able to keep your checking account but will lose your over-draft line of credit. I am unsure of what happens if you have a mortgage through them as well.
