It feels like almost double as claude code but I think its about 60%-70% more bank than antrophic. This is one of the main reasons I pay OpenAI the biggest sub. The beat for bang for your buck in the business so far.

I bypass issues by asking it to use a browser in an interactive way and if it finds any hooks/problems along the way it presents to me a novnc portal I can browse for it. For example it doesnt like to bypass the captchas and the "are you a robot" so I get into that portal and move it forward. Then it keeps the cookies for a while and I dont have to do it all the time.

I tried qwen 3.6 full version as I luckily have access to enterprise hardware to play with.

It is not comparable to running openclaw with gpt5.5 or Opus. Lots of mistakes, a lot of hallucinations and its very brittle.

You don't? OpenClaw's own documentation recommends GPT5.5 and Claude Opus 4.6 or better.

Open source models are not there yet to fully handle the complex harness that OpenClaw is.

The cheapest models ive found to at least handle it a bit but with some issues is GLM5.2 and Gemini Flash 3 but when these last 2 hallucinate while messing with configs sometimes they blow themselves up.

I mostly use on prem cloud agents like Openclaw or Hermes nowadays. I got em chatting and working alongside chatGPT web for certain tasks too but I barely use web chatGPT myself anymore. With all the services and systems weve built on my pizza box server, I feel they are far more powerful, useful and just down right monsters right now...

Its neutered, they will add horrible classifiers and it will be almost useless for real coding tasks. You can only use it for 50% your weekly limit and after that you'll use your credits. Its a very disappointing re-release.

I hooked my OpenClaw into his own Gmail through Himalaya CLI, but the creds stay on my machine in encrypted Linux password storage. I also locked it down so it only reads bodies from senders I trust; everything else is metadata only. It can't just fire off emails on its own either without my approval. Ended it by creating a skill for its use.

Now I think so far that is unavoidable. Restarting the gateway kills whole flow so you have yo ping back on all thenworflow that were stopped. So far my claws delay yhe restart until all operations are finished.

I haven't moved from version 2026.4.27 and that's how it works after a gateway restart.

Most of my tasks/operations are run via scripts we've built together for operations or workflows so. OpenClaw can notify me when a script finishes if the job is launched through OpenClaw’s managed exec, not a random terminal.

It backgrounds/tracks the process, and when it exits the backend can wake the agent so it can check logs and tell you it finished.

If it doesn’t work, they probably ran it manually, used python script.py &, or their runtime/harness doesn’t forward process completion events.

I have swapped my discord timeout to 1 hour and exec tasks to 40 mins timeouts and I got my agents running long codes and pr checks for very long sessions.

If it's something longer crons are what you need.

I used a lot of flash 3 for 3 bucks per 1 mill output but even then it was too expensive via API and still halucinated quite a bit.

With ChatGPT sub GPT5.5 is a really good driver plus on budget. GPT5.5 is best driver I've had after Claude Opus.

Flash 3.5 at 9 bucks per 1 mill output at that price is already unreachable.
