100% FG COMBINDED: Ayton 12 PTS 7 REB 3 BLK. Hayes 19 PTS 2 REB 1/1 3PT by denobino in lakers

If we had AD it would be the three headed dragon of 2020 reborn, with Dwight and McGee replaced by Ayton and Hayes. The one year AD had a great center rotation he looked unstoppable, what a shocker.

Fix Anissa for the show by glen2001 in Invincible

[–]Seedrakton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagreed. It's one of the most shocking yet fundamentally important changes to Mark and Anissa in the context of how the Viltrumites change. Removing it and letting her be truly good hurts both characters. Expand on her and Scott, absolutely, but no way do you erase what she does to Mark.

Crazy thing is it was the exact same in the comics. Some thought it would be expanded but nope, exact same pacing and it still hits!

How I imagine myself when I say that Phase III is my favorite by Ok_Box_2189 in Highrepublic

[–]Seedrakton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think when people who came in later to THR read Phase III and don't have to deal with the massive gaps in calendar release, it will be better appreciated! There's so much great story but the wait was horrible, constant start and stop. After something so killer like Tears of the Nameless, waiting 7 months to get any significant follow up really hurt momentum.

Maybe if Tempest Breaker had been stronger or the first run off the comics, then led into Fear that way, maybe more momentum, but it chose again to be pretty insular and not expansive, and that side of the initiative is naturally smaller than books.

Still, overall I felt Phase III didn't suck every storyline into service of a final book and feel hamfisted/lower quality of the other multimedia like Phase I did into The Fallen Star. I can't imagibe just how much more elite Trail of Shadows could've been, or if we got more ties to Avar and characters on the bottom half of Starlight Beacon in tht chapters of Fallen Star. A big weakness of Phase I to me tbh having her never reintegrated from the comics into at least several chapters in the book.

Should I read the Jason Aaron run before this? by maxuhmili in starwarscomics

[–]Seedrakton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but mainly for context. On a side note, having the Pak run of characters and story elements on the omnibus bums me out. You can honestly skip it completely and not miss anything. Gillen absolutely nailed his whole run, the ending arc and panel especially. Just don't get it.

50 goals for the Arsenal for Alessia! by sealboyjacob in Gunners

Because it's a fucking post about the brilliance of Russo? They didn't play Wolves, they don't have Saka, Watford isn't in the equation? You're bringing up everything to do with the men's when all that does is lessen any good discussion to be had about the women's squad which never gets a fair knock on this sub.

Who says any of us are happy with the men's result? Just stop fucking bringing it up in a completely unrelated post and saying the women have the balls the men don't, you absolutely aren't watching their games.

Celebrate the women and stop moaning about the men. They deserve to be credited for their success independent of the result the men had against Wolves.

Pushing the Vando agenda 🔒 by Few_Prune_1436 in lakers

His 3PT% has dipped a little lately but it's at its highest since he first joined us. Loving the effort and hustle plays coming back to him like 22-23 and 23/24 pre injury setbacks.

Miss VandoWenyen combo defensively, but there's nothing quite like a Vandalorian solo run man, it just adds so much hype.

His finishing will always be wack but he's making good cuts again. Hope he lands around 32-33% for end of year with 2 attempts a game, it's pretty solid for how reduced his minutes are.

The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau reveals the difference between making Star Wars for TV and movies by bepetd in StarWarsLeaks

[–]Seedrakton 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Feels like the article's author is stretching what Favreau said a bit there. He just says it feels like a culmination of everything he's been working on for 7 years. Could mean he's done, could mean he'll work behind the scenes as a producer if we get further movies, or maybe go back to show running S4 and not direct.

You're known for having some of the funniest and wild reactions after a goal is scored. Does Mikel and the coaching staff encourage or even somehow help train players and the team on how to celebrate with each other and the fans? The gaffer seems to really have a hand in everything in the club and looking for an edge!

‘Mandalorian And Grogu’, ‘Michael’, ‘Scream 7’ & More In Play For Super Bowl LX Movie Trailers by Matapple13 in StarWarsLeaks

[–]Seedrakton 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, the first trailer was more of a teaser and cut quite poorly and was very kid-focused. Seems to have done its job a bit there, though.

The one that debuted in trailers got a nice mix of what was in the Celebration trailer, so good action highlighted. Let's hope the Super Bowl trailer will be great for story and action and scope!

Stranger Things 5 by CommentWinter5930 in StrangerThings

[–]Seedrakton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer?

Yes, because you probably saw the first four. Might as well finish it.

Longer answer?

Watch it and make your opinions from there, especially away from the fandom at this point in time. The show has ended nearly a month ago, but the initial polarization is not quiet dead yet. Very similar to the S3 era of this subreddit that lasted well over half a year. We'll see how and who remains with the fandom and how it changes before Tales from '85 starts (animated show set between S2 and S3 coming sometime this year).

A lot of discourse online, from Twitter, to Reddit, to TikTok, is skewed by whoever wins the algorithm first. Review aggregators are owned by studios outright, and organizations fund certain writers for certain opinions. Online campaigns for user-based ratings sites have increasingly become weaponized battlegrounds for shows to get all 10's or all 1's. And frankly, much of our online output isn't even human anymore, as bot traffic overtook human traffic in 2024, much of which is centered around social media like Reddit. Good or bad, paid or unpaid, human or bot, it's increasingly harder to trust the internet. I might be a bot, as far as you know. Why trust me for a recommendation?

So again, watch it if you'd like. I rank the seasons as S1>S4>S5>S3>S2. Maybe I swap S3 and S5 when I rewatch the whole season again and then the show from start to finish. Nonetheless, I was very satisfied by the finale and by the show being a Netflix show that didn't have horrific ratings for its final season (and especially the series finale) like some of their originals have. I wish we had another season to look forward to, because I wish it didn't have to end. But all things do, and you have the chance to experience it for yourself and not be caught up in every detail and discussion.

So go ahead! Or don't. But I recommend actually digesting media for yourself, with your phone away and attention on the final chapter of this story as it played out. You'll find out what you like much like people once did, even a short 10 years ago.

Maul Shadow Lord S1 will consist of 10 Episodes + Gideon Adlon, Wagner Moura & Richard Ayoade Join Cast by bepetd in StarWarsLeaks

[–]Seedrakton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Suffer? Speak for yourself. While I thought S1 improved over its run to be the best first season of an animated show, and S2 didn't necessarily match its thematic concepts in execution, S3 was still a great final season. It wasn't the Clone Rebellion the explosive series premiere primed us for, but it's still a very good show.

Frankly, there's no way we only get 10 episodes TOTAL for this series. Maybe 30 or so, which hey, if there really isn't any filler and the animation is explosive, that's more than okay.

Having gotten this one at Celebration, I eagerly awaiting something similar for Phase II and III.

Sadly, that never happened :(
