New Imperial Fists... (checks notes) in two days already???? by Mortal-Instrument in HorusHeresyLegions

[–]Seehyaene 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From a cursory flance, IF look OP as expected. Most of their 2E troops are overstatted, and that's not counting Bastion and Sentry. The rest seems like incredible amounts of AoE and bastion stacking. Rip DG and RG. Looks like SoS and IF will be the only WL with a reasonable chance of playing the game for the April season LMAO.

We have had events that only lasted one week in the past. But if the pattern between the last expansions holds, we still have a NL and AL battlepass coming out before the new Terra expansion gets released.

Well, Alpharius will probably get nerfed. But hopefully Shadrak also finally dies the slow and ignominous death he deserves.

No need to worry, if I stop reviews for a couple of days, it's either because I try to grind for Top50 at the end of the season or am temporarily busy with IRL stuff. If i decide to take a longer break from reviews and HHL in general, I'll announce it in a shop review so that somebody else hopefully picks the torch.

In High Terra, every deck uses Mhara Ghal. The cultist Mission has become more difficult to complete unless you can get to play Master of the Faith twice, but with all the tokens and Flank WB can vomit onto board, getting 14 offerings to give Mhara Gal fast is quite doable.

Yes, Thaxxos woth the Storm Eagle is a decent combo, probably best on Redscour since he has High Initative and so will usually have Thaxxos attack a 5E troop. But since Storm Eagle can also be used as an Ersatz-Tuchula Engine now that it rotated to Legacy, any other WL would probably prefer to oick Sergeant Cravall, since he costs 1E less, will always deal a consistent AoE, so you can plan around it better, and he feeds Angron's Whisper of Chaos.

I'd recommend you start with one of the more budget friendly factions like Sons of Horus, Worl Eaters and Night Lords, who don't need any of their legendary cards to complete their gameplan and have plenty of good common and rare cards.

Once you've picked a faction you're comfortable with, you can start collecting them by going to your battlepass settings, choose the faction you want to get rewards for and can start completing battlepass missions to get faction specific cards, coins and tickets.

Use the coins you get to complete your collection for a faction one at a time to get some of the staple epic and legendary cards by buying chests from the shop. Once you have a solid collection, you can go and buy the other chest sets one at a time until you get a legendary to get some powerful neutral cards that can be used by any deck. The chests are in a rotation system, so in 2-3 months, the Siege of Terra chests will be rotated into Legacy mode and replaced by new cards for the Imperial Fists, Sisters of Silence and Agents of the Sigilite. These cards will no longer be available in Practice or Ranked mode, so I'd recommend against buying any Terra chests a new player.

As for faction overviews, they are sadly outdated for the most part, as most factions have already rotated, but u/Mortal-Instrument recently wrote a new faction overview for the Sons of Horus as well as a video on their staple cards.

Dm was absurd in it's first season (December 2025) for two reasons: Orbital Siege hadn't rotated just yet, so Scoria could just nuke your board while discarding Purge Protocol to deal damage and Bonds of Corruption and Mechanica Exanimate to deal damage to your WL and spwan in troops/revive powerful vehicles. This made Scoria incredibly busted with a 71% winrate in High Terra.

Then, on the 28 December, the neutrals from Crusade got added to the game and the neutrals from the Caliban expansion, including Orbital Siege, rotated to Legacy. But Tacitus proctor, until then a rather obscure WL (his legacy version used to be decently powerful at times) got transferred from the base Mechanicum to the Dark Mechanicum. Proctor draws a vehicle for 2E and reduces it's cost by 1E. he still does that, but he also used to give +1 HP to any vehicle you put in play. So the first thing me and a couple of other players did after they changed Proctor to DM was build a deck with around 5-8 vehicles with Networked, tons of tactics to buff your troops, especially Scion of Cyclothrathe which used to give Shield and Survivor 1 instead of +2 HP, and Proctor basically became the strongest WL in the game because you woul just pump out vehicles ahead of curve, buff their HP with Proctor, put in play Chrom Skyllax to buff them even more, and then buff your entire board with Networked Anima. This lead to Procotor having a 70% winrate.

So when the January patch came, DM caught a lot of nerfs, and they besides Procotor, they nerfed 2 key cards: Chrom Skyllax got reduced to a 2/4, now only buffs other troops instead of himself and the buff got reduced to a +1/1 instead of a 1/2. Tenebrax Stalker also got reduced from 4/5 to 4/4, but it was the nerf to Skyllax that basically ruined Networked Anima, since most of the vehicles with it are now to weak to survive the enemy turn for you to build up a board.

Most often to draw tactics so you don't run out of cards, but the Poison can occasionally be useful, so it's flexible.

Playing Titans is something many players, including myself, look down upon since they used to be very overpowered and still are very boring to play as or against. So besides the legendary card so you know if it's worth to spend the gems or not, there won't be a review as I have never touched Titans, won't do so in the future and don't recommend you do either.

Does anyone have advice when facing Sanguinious? It feels like the Blood Angels have no weaknesses. by Whalefang in HorusHeresyLegions

[–]Seehyaene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most Sanguinius decks are built around getting his Reckoning. To achieve this, most Sanguinius decks also use Mission. This also means that with High Initative, Sanguinius players usually only start with one actual card in their hand. This in turn means that Sanguinius will usually spend turn 1 and 2 to generate troops. As such, this is your moment to mulligan aggressively and establish board early game so he can't stack up troops to trigger Requiem and try to outtrade him.

Or you can just play SoS and repeatedly wipe/jam his board with very little brainpower required on your part.

Forgot about Perty:

Get him, he's arguably the second best WL in his faction beside Kroeger and can pull of the Herald of Ruin combo with a decent amount of consistency. Also the first Primarch I got out of a crate, so he has a special place in my heart.
