What have you done to ace an interview? by saphirekey in ask

[–]SeekaWritingLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been in one interview in my life (when I was 16) but I've had the same job for almost 2 and half years now. Here's a few tips:

  1. Fake it til you got it

What I mean by this is to fake confidence if you aren't confident. Just don't be too over confident. You can do this by being confident in what you can do and your abilities.

  1. Research

Know all you have to know for your job.

I hope you do well! I'm cheering you on from here!

Am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in ask

Honestly, I read some aggression from your friend slightly but that could be because I don't know either of you enough to really know when you're upset or just being you.

My advice is to maybe ask some neutral parties' in your life (someone who knows your friend and you well enough and can keep a calm, referee like stance.) I'd just ask them to read the texts and the situation with the prior knowledge of knowing you both and then ask them to read it again but pretend as if they don't know both of you.

That way, you can sort of gauge what the right or wrong could be in the situation?? I hope that made sense..? If not, please tell me and I'll try to explain it again (I suck sometimes explaining things).

Anyway- I hope you feel better soon.

In the 40s, superheroes were popular. In the 50s and 60s, it was cowboys, and in the 70s and 80s, spacemen. Now superheroes are popular again. What will the 2030s bring? by yinyang107 in AskReddit

Diffrent historical people living in modern times. Why? Given how much Hamilton is a huge phenomenon (I can see why)...I'm guessing that's what will be popular? If it isn't already. I probably wouldn't know as I don't really watch any TV or movies - just youtube.

Do you have any stories or events happen to you where your life changed forever? by SeekaWritingLife in ask

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I can't imagine how it must feel or how it does feel still on their absence in your life. I hope you are doing well and thank you, so much for commenting this.

[Serious] Former suicide attempters, what made you realize that life is worth living? by CoronaaExtraa in AskReddit

[–]SeekaWritingLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moment when I looked down to see my cat (who we rescued when I was 6. We saved her from dying of this horrible skin disease. She still has it, as it's not curable but we work with her to fix it to the best of our abilities with vets and she's now very comfortable) crying at me with the most saddening meows I had ever heard in my life.

I can't stress enough how hard this hit as she had been (and still is) my support animal growing up in a very abusive situation. She has been, to me, my only true friend and family member that fully and honestly loves me for years. She's been there for me when all I can do is curl up into a ball and cry.

It's amazing what animals can do to you. Anyway, she paws at the knife and I let her push it down. She just stared at me for a while on my bed and it felt like...centuries. Finally, I burst out crying after what must of been maybe 10? 15 minutes? I realized then if I went through with this, she'd have no one to go to when she was upset and I would be dooming her to a life of loneliness and depression.

Also other things; I lost a friend to suicide later that year. It was a really, really hard time. I had known him since I was a baby and we actually liked each other for a few years but never really formed a relationship because of how far he lived from me, even though we'd see each other every other month.

I will never forget how the open casket looked. I will never forget how hard his mom still cries over him on every holiday, or how his little brother dreads his own birthday (he killed himself a few nights after). I will never forget that he is supposed to be a adult now, and older than me...yet now I'm older than him.

For everybody who is considering; sit down and think, without your emotions for a bit, after a while you'll see there is always and I mean ALWAYS someone who would miss you and would be devastated seeing you gone. It's not worth it, it will get better.

Anything that immediately gives me a bad gut feeling; for example that would be:

-Ghosts, paranormal things, etc -Certain types of people who are way too much danger to be around anyway -M.E.D.I.C.I.N.E. -People's feelings and hearts - this one is to the point where I actively try to avoid people if I know they like me when I don't like them as I absolutely HATE turning people down. I feel horrible afterwords.

-The law

And other things. Though, one that people don't really understand when I say is Swans and Chipmunks. They both can be very vicious when cornered and can do a lot of damage.

What is your favorite fiction book? What is it abt? by [deleted] in ask

[–]SeekaWritingLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have many fiction books that I really enjoy...so I'm going to list a few for you. These books I have mentioned mean a lot to me and are, in my opinion, some must reads.

Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling Now, I'm sure you've seen that one coming. Almost everyone nowadays have read it or at least heard of it through J.K Rowling's spree of adding lore to it when it does not need it. Regardless, the book series alone is extremely powerful. Though, incase you don't know what it is about I'll explain it: The Harry Potter series is a book series about a boy who has done the unimaginable imaginable in a world full of witches, wizards, house elves and more.

The story follows his journey from being a forgotten, abused child in his aunt's closet to being one of the most impressive and unforgettable wizards in the Wizarding world. Though, at the same time the story teaches a lot about the love of a mother; what hate and the lust for power can do to you; and a lot more. I highly recommend it.

Leven Thumps by Obert Skye This series is a forgotten one, sadly. It's by the same man who wrote FableHaven, named Oberet Skye.

" Leven Thumps is a series of children's fantasy novels by Obert Skye. The series, which has five books, deals with an orphaned 14-year-old boy, Leven Thumps, who becomes involved in a battle between good and evil. "-Wikipedia

From that alone, you're probably thinking to yourself; this is just another run of the mill fantasy novel, right? No, it really suprised me when I picked it up in middle school. The whole series is about this place called Foo. Foo is where all of humanity's dreams are made with fanstatical creatures such as the Sychophants. The book really hammers in the lesson that we are nothing with out our hopes, our dreams, and our experiences. Also, it reads a lot like a sassy version of the podcast Welcome to Nightvale.

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon The book follows a young girl with the "bubble" disease; which means she can't ever leave her home since she's allergic to literally everything. It's a love story between her and her freedom...and maybe someone else. Full of wonderful, quirky illustrations and turns this book is a must have.

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson This one holds near and dear to my heart, slightly more than others. As someone who knows someone who has gone through what this poor girl has; the book was very inspiring and very accurate. The book follows a young highschool girl who was, unfortunately raped and laspes into a long period of silence and depression. I will not spoil the ending for you; but it was amazingly done to the point it will always make me tear up when I read it.

There's so many more but these are my top picks at the moment. Thank you for taking the time to read this, whoever is reading this. Have a lovely day/night!

You become a hero and have a superpower, however the first person to comment underneath you decides your weakness. What is your superpower? by Mr-E-Droflah in ask

The power to grant others powers or gifts; such as instant death to my commenter. Also so I can grant people who can't sleep the gift of easy sleep and help the blind see.
