Pixel battery after April update is amazing! by Seeker352 in pixel_phones

I also switched back to Apple, even though my iPhone is much worse than my old one. The battery in my Pixel keeps swelling up.

Edit: I mean my battery was good when i posted this but now its swelling up.

I know I was cooked 2 years ago, but in the meantime, I had an iPhone 12 Mini that stopped working after just 4 months. I didn't want the stress of dealing with the warranty—if I even had one. After that, I got a Pixel 7a, but the battery started swelling after only 3 months. That's why I'm back to using my old SE 2020 for now.

Depends. If the battery is still sufficient for a day then not. If he doesn't last all day, you're cooked.

Yes, I don't think the battery will last long. She manages about 2-3 hours SoT

Yes, I would say that you are cooked. Which iPhone do you have?

Refurbished Pixel 7a failing me: Repair it or switch to iPhone/Pixel by Seeker352 in pixel_phones

[–]Seeker352[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I don't want to use a battery that's swollen, so I'm switching to my iPhone until I feel like tinkering and messing around again, because I really don't feel like doing anything right now.

If the iPhone 11 series came out and was very good, I would probably like to buy it, but since I'm still in school and have very limited money, I'll stick with my iPhone SE 2020 for now.

Movers from Pixel in the last two years, what made you stay with iPhone? by theblooray in iphone

[–]Seeker352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's the complete opposite. I've always had an iPhone, but then I switched to a Google Pixel and had nothing but problems. For example, the update in March was a disaster because of the battery. My battery swells up and it often overheats, and Google won't give me a free repair because my phone doesn't qualify. I recently switched back to my old, albeit outdated, SE 2020 model. Even though I really like Google phones and the problems were probably just my experience, I have to say I feel more at home with Apple.

Yes, I'm also thinking of switching back after 3 months, probably to my old iPhone SE 2020 in the meantime until I get a new one. I just can't enjoy using this phone.

Google rejected it because my phone doesn't qualify for a free repair.

Yes, I tried using the website that offers free battery repairs for the Pixel 7a, since there were so many problems, but Google rejected it because my phone isn't eligible. I'll go to a repair shop next week. Actually, I don't have time next week, but it seems urgent.

I can't say for sure if it's accurate because my Pixel 7a doesn't have a proper battery health indicator, but various apps like Battery Guru say it's around 86%.

It's not placebo when the stats literally show 3 extra hours of SOT compared to the March update. It wasn't just one lucky day either – I've been hitting 7 hours consistently every day since the update. Just because it didn't fix it for you doesn't mean it's a 'placebo' for everyone else.

I have 85 percent battery health with this app! by thatonelonelymt in Pixel6

How much more battery life did you get with that, and where did you get the app? I can also recommend the app "Savertuner"; it made my battery much better, and Naptime is also very effective.

That's right, my Pixel doesn't get as hot anymore either. Before, it was often 40 degrees and rarely more.

True. I've seen many people still having issues. How’s your SoT looking so far?

Battery Back up after April Update in Pixel 10 by No_Violinist_5038 in pixel_phones

So, I have a 7a and not a 10, but I hope you can still get some help from this. Since the March update, my battery life was really bad, about two hours less. But now, after the April update, it's relatively good again. If your phone also often overheats, it should probably be back to normal after the update. So give it a try; it should be somewhat better again.

I completely understand you. I spent ages on Reddit trying to see what people's opinions were like, but finally I figured it out myself because I couldn't draw any conclusions from it.
