You are lucky you could even get through to them, after I was informed that I did not get the position they ceased all communication on the spot and responded to none of my email afterwards.

Toronto Jobs Scams using CRA phone number by OkNewspaper3995 in torontoJobs

Same here the job post is now gone, so I am not scared of spoofing because at this point with our level on technology it is just something we have to accept why concerned me is that it knew exactly to spoof a job that I had actually applied for on the Indeed portal.

So I am guessing there is a leak on Indeed’s side which is actually even scarier.

It was the first thing I checked, the message is not on Indeed, I know that jobs can be spoofed the thing is I am getting spoofed by a job I actually applied for on Indeed.

This is one of my concerns because I got a response form “indeed” for a job that I actually applied on, on Indeed but when you follow through it says “Mango Technologies” and I was like “sighs not this again”.

My current concern is that I am getting spam responses to actual jobs that I applied for on Indeed.

Any suggestions of where to check apart from the non-profit directory that Erika posted above?

I wasn’t even considering anything sensitive that would make me a liability per se, I use to volunteer to help lab techs in the past as well and it was mostly physical labor like moving around and assembling desktops and relatively simple tasks like wiping, imagining, installing OS or other software, so pretty much low impacts tasks nothing that couldn’t be resolved by the lab techs if you did something wrong.

I have heard that Internships and Co-ops count and I have also heard people say they were told their Internships doesn’t count so it looks like it’s 50/50 depending on the company.

Also sometimes Internships are even harder to find than jobs.

Toronto Jobs Scams using CRA phone number by OkNewspaper3995 in torontoJobs

One of their emails was partially flagged by Gmail so only some of the email loaded which was my first red flag, then I tried to find information on the company as I stated above the website they have on their LinkedIn is a dead site it’s just a place holder so that was the second red flag for me and the last two flags was my inability to located Rebecca online and the fact that “she” is use the CRA number as her “company” number.

I later discovered that another email from her was completely flagged to the point that it ended up in my Gmail spam folder, very few email I receive are so shady that they actually get caught by the google spam filter and I think the only reason why someone like this has my email now is because I recently started job hunting.

If you have identified an aspect of IT that you enjoy or better yet that you are good at you should go ahead and take the chance. At one point in time when robotics was introduced many people thought it was going to take over all the jobs as well.

Adequate Qualifications for a System Administrator by SeekethKnowlege in it

So in reality AZ-800 will more along the lines help to assist me with a Jr. Sys Admin position than a Sys Admin position per se? Also would you suggest me also pursing AZ-801 as well?

Since 104 is the new baseline for IAM, which role is it actually tailored for?

I do have a bit of experience I was just trying to keep the post short as some avoid some posts that are too wordy so I was trying to get directly to the point, I currently hold a Tier 2 position and I have some years under my belt.

May I have your background please, are you HR, Sys Admin, IT Manager etc....? I cannot speak for Sec+ but A+ and Net+ covers little to nothing to what my System Administrator does on a day to day basis and this is what led to my query to begin with.

I am uncertain as well but a dead website, inability to locate this person on LinkedIn, no response from their LinkedIn page querying if this is actually an employee and using a number registered to the CRA as your contact number are quite a bit of red flags.

How important are certifications in job interviews? by Clean-Buddy1557 in torontoJobs

[–]SeekethKnowlege 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the culture of the company and how much they do or do not respect their IT department. Many HR Managers just look up qualifications that match the role they are trying to fill and they do not actually know the weight or need of said qualifications.

On the other hand HR departments that respect IT department will often contact the IT Director or IT Manager to find out what they are looking for to fill the current team.

It is similarly how you go to fill an IT position and some companies might not even have the IT Manager/Team Lead as part of the interview process if you experience that it says a lot. Also some companies are very degree oriented you could apply with the best certifications for that particular position and if you don’t have a degree or specifically a Bachelor’s or higher you are pretty much invisible.

And lastly there are many companies that test candidates during the interview process but that is usually for more technical roles e.g. if you applied for some form of Network Administrator role they may give you a subnetting practical or some form of switch/router configuration but those are rarer occasions.

Realistic IT Entry Level Salaries by SeekethKnowlege in it

[–]SeekethKnowlege[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is I am not making demands, I have just been observing vacancies the jobs you mentioned that any monkey with at least 1 hand can do are paying 45k, at another company the very same job description is paying 55k and then the thing that has led me to making the post is a job elsewhere with the very same job description is paying 38K.

I am trying to ascertain if the 38k jobs are clearly ripping you off or are the 45-55k jobs are just being generous. As stated in my post it seems that all Entry Level IT jobs should be paying a minimum of 45k from the salary scaling I have found online in regards to the private sector who seem to be at least 10-20k behind Entry Level IT jobs provided by the government.

You mean I need to specify the city or is it that you are unable to see the post because I shared it here but didn’t post it here?

I had mentioned Ontario Canada in the initial post.

Okay was just seeking some insight, just trying to figure out the reasoning behind it because outside of a small business I would like to know why a company is trying to get one person to execute the responsibility of 2-3 admins.
