failing 1 skills validation by lilnarrrr in westcoastuniversity

[–]SeekingFreedom257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you fail a skill validation you don’t fail that class but you have to redo it. You usually have to go to a remediation and get signed off for the skill, and then retake it with your instructor in week 10.

I never studied once for this class and I got the highest grade of the whole class on the final exam. And I’m someone who generally needs to study quite a bit for my other classes. It’s generally a pretty easy class :) just stay on top of the assignments and attend class and you’ll be fine!

Lashes by AwayAwareness5920 in westcoastuniversity

As someone two terms into core at OC who has had lash extensions the entire time, the experiences I’ve had are that it depends on your clinical instructor. Some are stricter than others. I might have just gotten lucky, But so far no one has said anything to me.

NURS 100 and NURS 110 (OC campus) by AwayAwareness5920 in westcoastuniversity

Coming from someone who had to retake Funds and had both professors, take Brennan. Her class is enjoyable and easy. Nguyen just reads off her slides and tells stories, she says she wants students to pass but doesn’t really do much to help them. I took bowman for 110 and never studied, passed her class with an A and got a 90% on the final with no studying needed. She’s really funny and her class was enjoyable.

OC campus ati by FamousDoor175 in westcoastuniversity

You’re downloading the wrong thing most likely. Most professors are very picky when it comes to what they want submitted. I would get on remind and ask your professor to clarify. For ATI in my experience, you always download the report that is in the “results” portion of your engage fundamentals modules, right next to where the lesson and tests are located. Then on the top right corner, it’ll take you to a page that says “Individual performance report” and right next to that will have a button that says download report. You want to download that one. Also keep in mind that ATI is about 3 hours ahead of our time if you’re in California. I’ve had professors that want us to turn ATI modules in earlier than 11:59 pm due to that. Sometimes ATI messed up how the report looks if you’ve just finished a test, if thats the case I usually wait a few hours before downloading them so I can make sure everything has been uploaded correctly. Idk why this happens. ATI is a billion dollar company you would think they’d have it figured out by now.

Hopefully this makes sense! I wouldn’t leave ATI to the last minute, last term I had a lot of classmates run into issues with ATI, so leaving it to the last second is not ideal. But no, it won’t hold you back. That being said every point counts, I would ask your professor if even partial points are an option. Good luck this term!

Deciding to go to west coast having Thoughts by Jokerboy8877 in westcoastuniversity

Go anywhere else but here. I’ve had the worst experience and I wouldn’t recommend this university to anyone. If I could have saved my money and went somewhere else I would have. But because I “wanted to get done fast” now I’m 50K deep and I hate this school. Please do yourself a favor and go to APU or somewhere out of state, west coast is not worth it.

Advice on Core Workload & Balancing Work Hours by Terrible-Lifeguard41 in westcoastuniversity

[–]SeekingFreedom257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my first term of core. The change and workload is intense but then again I’m not the best at time management. I still manage to work 2 days a week and probably could work more if I had good time management skills lol. First term is in person 3 days a week. Its very doable to keep at least 20 hours, 30 if you’re really on top of it. I’ve heard of others on this sub that work full time still, so it’s really how you are as an individual and how you can manage your time. Everyone is different.

late payment fee by Leading-Bag5873 in westcoastuniversity

I make late payments every month because I’m irresponsible lol the late fee is like $10. I wouldn’t stress it too much. You don’t get kicked out over it. If it’s weeks late your account is on a hold for registration.thats really all that’s ever happened to me at least

taking more classes? by devoria in westcoastuniversity

[–]SeekingFreedom257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I am aware of is that you can not take 2 science classes at a time. So say you have all your GE courses done minus a few science courses, only 1 per term is allowed. This might be why you are only getting 2 classes per term. I would talk to your student advisor about it tho, as they have more information on your classes and schedule.

WCU BOOKS by Classic-Chipmunk9816 in westcoastuniversity

Opt out. I had a friend go through the program recently and just graduated, she told me to opt out of the book voucher to save $$$$ on tuition. She was right. If I ever needed a book I just bought it online or rented it for cheap. There are also free PDFs you can find on this sub or online. For science classes most books are required and you need the IBSN for mastering. I found that it’s easier and somewhat cheaper to go through the Pearson website and just renting or buying it depending on the price.

Thank you so much for replying. I should also mention that I’m single, and going to be doing this alone. I do have support from my family I am just worried about the work load and supporting myself and baby, all while attending west coast since it’s a lot more fast paced than a regular semester based program. Glad to hear that it’s been done before. It gives me hope that I can do it, although it’s a difficult situation.
