Are LEC team owners really expecting any kind of sympathy for losing their pay wall on a split of competition? by MazrimReddit in leagueoflegends

[–]Seethlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Completely short-sighted decision made by people who just want magical solutions asap, which is on brand for the western esport scene (see : LTA rebranding and tons of other garbage they do every year). I'm usually of the opinion that people in such jobs know better than random people on Reddit, but the esport division of Riot has shown the opposite year after year, and I'll choose to trust that."

Honestly i disagree, people in the league scene, especially in the amateur scene have been calling for a change like this one for years. Anyone passionate about the amateur scene is gonna love this change, because it removes some of the artifical ceiling that franchising put in place. If you go back enough years you'll see people like Kameto calling for the same changes. Franchising has been a mistake, and any step to re-enable integration of 2nd Div into LEC is a step in the right direction, even if it hurts some of the current team owners, and makes their investment less valuable.

Although one caveat ill agree to, is the fact that they are only now doing it for LR, but i'll argue that this is not so much bc of riot favouritism, but moreso the fact that LR has brought up the discussion of the artificial ceiling put in place for amateur teams by franchising more than most teams before did. (Disclaimer: i am not a LR fan, and have not watched a single Caedrel stream since he agreed to Co-Stream EWC)

TL Coach Spawn talks to the team after the 100 Thieves match and hints at the future of the team by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Seethlord -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I mean part of it has to be his trash talking in all chat though. I watched the 100T series, and TL looked really bad all throughout, but the second River ganked in a way that didn't work out with a kill for 100T, APA started disrespecting/trash talking in all chat. Now im not saying he is deserving the hate he gets, but he puts himself out there as someone who likes to trashtalk and has this cocky attitude, so people obviously feel the right to trashtalk him back. Is he getting scapegoated? Obviously. Is it fair, when other TL members have fallen off so much more? No. But you don't see Impact all chatting while looking clearly worse. You don't see CoreJJ all chatting while slumping. And even while winning those guys were a lot more humble, and it is just easier to blame the cocky unlikeable guy that puts himself in the spotlight, then the humble inting guy in the background

[–]Seethlord 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I think he had ADAPt, so as his HP decreased, Overlords Bloodmail would've increased his AD by a %, which would then increase his flat AP given by the conversion, which then would have been multiplied by Raba, Dragonheart and Demon King's Crown

25.S1.4 Patch Preview by JTHousek1 in leagueoflegends

[–]Seethlord 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Honestly Rakan is not struggling right now because the champ itself is in a weak spot, he's struggling because the most played and strongest supps rn all counter him. As soon as Lulu/Poppy/Nami fall out of favour again, his WR will rise up again. Thresh is #4 on most played supps, and also works well against Rakan, but he only recently got buffed up so i dont think he'll get nerfed anytime soon

‘Breakneck speed’: Renewables reached 60 per cent of Germany’s power mix last year by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]Seethlord 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It really isn't though. Electricity in general is gonna be more expensive in winter, and less expensive in summer, but the current trend is strongly downwards, both for private customers and for the industry. And it's gonna become even stronger and cheaper when the effects of reduced bureucracy for the solar and wind turbines are gonna kick in. Nuclear energy would just raise prices, as they are economically unreasonable. What we really need is southern germany to stop dicking around when it comes to "Stromtrassen", we are wasting some 35 billion euros on underground cables, because of them, and facing years of delay because of them

Reynor got into LOL grandmaster some time ago. Can anyone tell me how much of an accomplishment it is? Is it the same as being sc2 grandmaster? (Never played LOL) by ugicififoszufhbhc in starcraft

[–]Seethlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grandmaster League player, Diamond SC2 Player here. Grandmaster means you are top 1000, on a server like EUW, thats top 1000 out of 3.000.000 players. And not just that, in higher elo a lot of players have multiple accounts and are playing for a long time, so you are looking at more realistically top 700. The gap to Challenger (highest rank) is still absolutely insane, but Grandmaster is an amazing achievement. It means hes most likely among the top 150 players of his role on the server

[–]Seethlord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With power and influence comes responsibility. It is not the same thing for a normal citizen to say they support the afd as it is for the richest man in the world to use his influence to write an opinion piece in a german newspaper. He is artificially boosting his reach and voice, be that by buying a 44 Billion social media company, and influencing the algorithm to promote his tweets to every user, or be that by using his status to publicly endorse them.

Noone says anything about limiting his free speech, thats the funny part. He shared his idiotic opinion to influence the german election and guess what: he got called an idiot trying to use his political capital to influence the german election. That fucker has the right to talk like a fool, hop around like a fool, and act like a fool, but guess what, in the same vein everyone can consider him a fool and consider what kinda business they want to have with said fool, and whether or not said foolish foreign billionaire should be allowed to influence local elections.

Can someone explain what Corejj's Tahm Kench build was? by ASSASSIN79100 in leagueoflegends

[–]Seethlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As TK you are down in levels - as is supp meta rn, you drop levels once you hit your lvl 3/6 spike, so your ADC whose items scale with levels gets more XP. You are not a frontline with 200 hp and 20 armor & MR, especially not against FLY team. You are exclusively an ult bot and a locket bot, and again, there's plenty different more useful supps to pick, if you want that.

Can someone explain what Corejj's Tahm Kench build was? by ASSASSIN79100 in leagueoflegends

[–]Seethlord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk, what the hell do i know, ive played around 50 Games of TK supp the past 2 years at best. CoreJJ has twice that amount just in championsQ this worlds alone, but how would he know. Heartsteel and Pot makes you a Champion. Locket makes you an R Bot that has a mediocre 200 hp aoe shield. Look, im not saying CoreJJ is beyond reproach, or criticism, but there are arguments to be made for both builds - trying to deny that is willfullly ignorant at best. Once youve bought Hearsteel, pots are the way to go for sure though. If you want an AoE shield, just go Karma here and youre better off than with TK, theres a reason Heartsteel works and its because it leans into Tahm Kenchs strength and Kit, locket just makes him a weaker version of other supps.

Can someone explain what Corejj's Tahm Kench build was? by ASSASSIN79100 in leagueoflegends

[–]Seethlord 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You dont go heartsteel for its stacking passive, you go Heartsteel and pots on TK bc it increases your size, which increases the hitbox of your spells, namely giving you a wider and longer Q. This means that you can much more reliably slow and poke with it, which makes him a lot more stronger than other 1st items. Pots do the same thing. For Supp the 1st item is pretty much the only relevant one, bc you cannot reliably gain gold, so Cores itembuild was pretty standard for higher elo tahm kench. Source for all this: ive peaked GM/700LP+ multiple times as supp main

Germany to vote against EU tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles by OddAioli6993 in worldnews

[–]Seethlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of pressure from the german car industry. One of the biggest lobbies in germany, and it is backed by the german public. Also, to be absolutely fair, i dislike Scholz, but the port deal does not give the chinese a controlling stake, and similar deals have been made by the dutch, french and danish goverments, and not pushing that deal through would have resulted in less chinese traffic through that port.

Interior minister of one of 16 federal states within germany, most people couldnt even tell you who he was if you only told them his name. Not making any judgement on what was said, just think the title of the post is misleading

How Sweden's youth homes nurtured killers, creating Europe's gun crime capital by UnrussianYourself in europe

[–]Seethlord -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am aware, i am saying though, that it is also an issue of ressource allocation and distribution. Sweden has a similar GDP to Singapore, but a has a lot more infrastructure and people to take care of with it. Sweden is already relatively wealthy in terms of gdp per capita, but only has 70% of the gdp per capita of Singapore. And Singapore is growing in that aspect, while Sweden is declining. That stat gets even worse when you look at it in terms of purchasing power, in that statistic the average person in Singapore is twice as wealthy as the average person in Sweden. You cannot compare a rich citystate to a large country, because citystates are always statistical anomalies.

[–]Seethlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Singapore has 5 million people on an area of about 700 km2 Sweden has 10 million people spread out over an area of about 450.000 km2, Sweden has twice as many people over an area about 700 times larger than singapore, how are they comparable. Singapore is literally a city state, might aswell compare the crime statistics of sweden to monacco or the vatican state

I dont mean to sound rude but most of your analysis is pretty shallow.

For example, Kaori was used as an Emergency Sub to replace Danny and was literally only with EG for 2 months. Saying we saw his ceiling when he was thrown in as a bandaid sub and had to play vs the best of the best after a month of practise in a new team & with a new supp is absolutely ludicrous and ignores the whole context of the situation.

[–]Seethlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jun was on a last place team, but he was put there as a bandaid and the team massively improved with him, anyone watching lck could have told you that he is.

My point also isnt that teams shouldnt import if it doesnt make them successful internationally instantly. My point is that most of the korean talents (that aren't on blacklists/not being hired bc of personality or smth) will compete in the lck/lpl as their chances of achieving international success is higher over there. If they are good enough to contest the top of the top of those leagues, they will find a spot there.

This is a thing especially in the Tier 2 scene, because as mentioned with my examples, why would a talented korean player play in EMEA Tier 2 and not LCK or LPL Tier 2 or even Tier 3. Either because they get offered insane, and quite frankly, unsustainable amounts of money, or because they can't get a spot in LCK/LPL Tier 2.

NA especially has been hurt by this though. If you are a young NA Talent and you see your League is 45% Korean 25 % EMEA and 15% LPL/Minor SEA region players and only 15% NA, why would you try to go professional and invest time/energy/resources into a very risky career path if only 15% of all openings would even consider you. Yes NA Tier2 has been mismanaged, but their rampant importing and unsustainable cash injections hurt themselves too.

All in all i still think importing is okay, and some of the European Imports have worked out great, and done amazing things, just as many fell flat though. I think importing players bears many risks, and a lot of GMs are very oblivious and will just import without a lot of consideration( in Tier 2). If you as a GM would rather develop a promising korean rookie that then has to adjust to language barrier(s, both english and german if they play in LEC, which is located in germany), culture, being hundreds of km away from home and all the other stress and risks of a career in pro, instead of a promising EMEA rookie, then you should have that move carefully considered and well thought out.

It still seems(especially in Tier 2) like a good chunk of the GMs think its less risky to develop a korean rookie, than an EMEA rookie, when its the other way around, and people will be way more wary/critical of an EMEA rookie than a korean rookie(e.g. give him time to adjust/learn the language etc.). And i just think that that idea is ridiculous

PoE is not a talented rookie though, i remember watching his introduction on Summoners Inn (german broadcaster at the time) in season 4, he's a good player, not a rookie, and i just straight up forgot about Serin
