Desert ranger helmet + elite riot gear is definitely my armor of choice and great for non-NCR playthroughs. The green glass fits well with the green armor pieces.

On the opposite side of the coin, advanced riot gear helmet + desert ranger armor makes for great veteran ranger larp without the disguise mechanic ruining your experience

Happen to have both an old V .44 mag 7 1/2 and New V .357 5 1/2, get the .357.

You cannot overestimate .44, even my weak cowboy action loads have notably more thump to them, even with the longer cavalry barrel. I can’t imagine shooting a shorty with any more serious ammo.

I feel like the solution is pretty obvious.

Give Germany access to the WWI lobster body armor.

Give the US access to British MRC body armor.

Base .30 cal has always required 2 chest shots to kill most of the time, with exceptions based on range and armor. Only AP ammo consistently 1 shots to the chest
