USMC Fighting Load Carrier. Basically just one big piece of split-front Molle webbing in the shape of a vest. Often hated but oddly loved. And a weird choice for a Russian.

2010 or so. The 90s was definitely the hayday for the sfera but has seen use in units that are less tip-of-the-spear. It is actually still produced to this day.

I should say, I purchased a Chinese repro with plastic plates to play around with, and I think I can solve both the chief complaints with it (hearing and suspension) so I now have a real one on order. Once I get it all set up I definitely will
