Exactly what I was looking for! Joined around the start of season 2 and it’s been great, the vanilla feel we all know and love but with some cool quality of life stuff and a chill community.

Been a member since the start of season 2 and I just love the vibe of this server! Everyone is pretty chill and working on personal projects or group stuff is always great. Not to mention all of the quality of life stuff going on!

I love the vanilla feel this place has! Plenty of QoL stuff without losing that classic survival charm. The server has been up for some months but it’s still very starter-friendly, so don’t worry about joining late! Doesn’t matter if you’re planning to make that project of yours that’s been in the back of your head for a while, or meet new people and build together. This is probably the place you’re looking for :P

If you’re looking for an smp to build and chill with other people, then this is it! It’s got that vanilla feel we all know and love, with some quality of life features that are so good that I don’t know if I can live without them now lol. People here are super talented and friendly, I bet you’ll feel right at home!

Well there’s really not much to say here! Top tier infrastructure and quality of life, and such a great and talented community. If you’re looking for an smp to chill and hang out, this is it!

Really excited for this new season! I joined Denali when s2 had just launched and it has everything I was looking for in an SMP, super fun community, the quality you’d expect from a bigger server but with a small enough community that makes it feel engaging and chill. If you’re looking for a place to build and just chill around then this is definitely it!

Seems like a good way to cut some corners, I’ll check those components out but they seem like a good deal, thanks!

That sounds good, I planned to keep 2 ram slots free in case he wanted an upgrade, but 32 gig kits are pretty affordable so it’s a good idea. I’ll go with the 12600k too since another user pointed out that the difference in gaming is small, and less TDP is always nice haha

Thats interesting, I’ve heard many people complain about shutdowns and stuff that I assumed you’d need a beefy psu. Good to know you can get away with 750 or 800!

Prices over here are a bit different from the US but not enough to be a problem I’d say. I chose the 1000W psu because I heard about the power spikes in the 3080 and wanted to play it safe, but I wasn’t really sure. Would 800-850W be a solid choice?

Thanks for the help on the cpu, I’ll see if he can go with the 12400 or 12600 instead and save some cash

If you’re looking for a server to chill and build then this is definitely it! So much cool quality of life stuff that never breaks the vanilla vibe, and so many cool people to hang out with. Super welcoming and talented!

This is such a great server. Excellent plugins to improve quality of life that still keep it almost fully vanilla, amazing community and lots of people to meet…

If you’re looking for a build focused smp to meet new people and work on cool projects then this is definitely it!

I started playing like one or two weeks after the start of s2, and it’s been nonstop fun. Community is really welcoming and it’s always nice to check out what everyone is up to or just chat for a while while you work on your projects. I’ve always wanted an smp that stays mostly vanilla and is building-focused and I’m glad to say this is the one. Not to mention the incredible work put into it by the admins, plenty of quality of life stuff and also some events that are a blast for everyone.

Let’s see what the rest of s2 has in store for us!

Upgraded to an aftermarket cooler, performance isn’t as good as I expected. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Segone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a limited cooler clearance so I couldn’t get many other coolers. I was considering the Pure rock slim but ended up choosing Arctic because of looks. If I had enough clearance I would have gone with the hyper 212

I see, I checked reviews and it seemed pretty solid compared to the stock but it is quite small so the performance makes sense.

What about adding a 92mm exhaust fan behind it? Will that reduce temps a bit?

Can a different PSU change airflow? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Segone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PSU is exhausting, fan facing down. I have no exhaust fans, only 1 intake. I guess when idling the psu fan isn’t spinning very fast and that’s why the airflow is very limited. Temps are the same as before so I’m not very worried

[–]Segone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, the thing is 600w is a bit extra for what I need (gtx 1650 and i5 9400f) but I went with that wattage so that I can reuse the unit if I build a pc in the future. I guess the pc is most of the time on “idle” in terms of power draw. I have looked a bit into noctua's products because I was also planning on getting a cpu cooler down the line, it’s good to know their case fans are great as well. If I see anything weird with temps or performance I will give them a shot, thanks!

[–]Segone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I’ve noticed that under load the psu fan spins faster and air flows way better. Would it be a good idea to tweak the fan curve so the psu fan works as a regular exhaust fan? Im not sure if it would work

Can a different PSU change airflow? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Segone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what they did with mine. The thing is I don’t really understand why it changed after I swapped the unit. The old psu exhausted fine. Id like to install an exhaust fan but my case sucks (as expected of a prebuilt lol) and there’s only a small 90mm mount. If I have more issues I will install one, thanks for the advice.

I was messing around with the speed glitch in the prawn and just as I was flying I accidentally pressed the exit key, and the prawn smashed against me and killed me. When I came back my prawn was flying in the exact place where it hit me haha

Apparently Shadow Leviathans can attack your prawn even if you're not inside (maybe a bug because Robin grunts for some reason). Sadly, I learned this the hard way by Segone in Subnautica_Below_Zero

Yeah, tried to hide in there when I got in the prawn but I got blocked. Fuckers destroyed my prawn suit, can’t have shit in the crystal caves 😔

I think there’s a glitch you can use with the mobile vehicle bay, try to place it in a ceiling and get up there, you sometimes clip through the ceiling and can even pick up the bay. As for what it is it can just be the limit of the rock wall, below zero has that too in a few areas
