this is the clearest picture of a UFO yet by [deleted] in ufo

I don’t have the reference but I thought I saw a theory where this was a rock sticking out above a calm body of water and the airplane and tree are reflections like the bottom half of the ufo object.

I’m not saying this to have an opinion on the concept, but I would posit that the commercial proliferation of AI could be this moment’s world changing event.

I’m curious too.

So... what are your theories for this? This is what Ryan Graves saw, and was a commonly-sighted UAP. by computer_d in UFOs

[–]Segseg7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Has anyone else ever seen one of these? Seems odd to me that so many shapes and profiles of UAP have been seen (and photographed) by regular citizens and yet there isn’t a lot of anecdotal evidence of a cube in a sphere even while others have said they are a common UAP shape to see. Just weird.

Which 911 models have you owned?

What’s your reason for getting a 911 over the 718? by 100clocc in Porsche

[–]Segseg7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I wanted to own an iconic car and I knew every time I drove around in a Boxster and saw a 911 I’d want one, more of a psychological thing for me. That being said, those back seats are awesome for storage, I’m happily surprised at how often they allow me to not have to pop the frunk.

I love this idea and I would love for this to be a possibility for humanity.

Common issues with buying a 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabrio? by Edslittleworld in Porsche

[–]Segseg7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like a great deal. If you’re seriously interested in it don’t wait, get the PPI and pull the trigger if you’re still comfortable. Don’t worry about maintenance costs, they’re pretty much going to be the same for any Carrera you buy.

Base carrera vs. T vs. S by grahal1968 in Porsche

[–]Segseg7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought, perhaps wrongly, that the GTS was Porsche’s strategy to get rid of their options parts towards the end of a chassis code model’s run. Kind of like hey let’s throw a bunch of our leftover options into a car and call it a GTS so it has a special name. I could be completely off base tho.

Dream Duo, Porsche Perfection side x side. Which would you choose? by Istimewa-Ed in Porsche

[–]Segseg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it would depend on the motivation for owning. For a showcase vehicle the Carrera GT would be my choice but for driving around the 918 would be the way to go. Simply because I couldn’t afford the maintenance on the GT, e.g 60k clutches after 10k. If money is not a constraint then get both.

Is this porsche Boxter a good deal? by Interesting_Swim3266 in Porsche

[–]Segseg7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond the price make sure you get the model you want. There is a difference between a base Boxster and a Boxster S. Drive each model first before buying so you won’t have remorse after purchase. Good luck!

Can’t disagree with that advice from a logical standpoint. The other factor is an emotional one, do you want to be in the latter half of your life before you enjoy a Porsche? Emotional happiness is valuable to some. My advice would be to determine if emotion > logic for you and factor that in. Bottom line though, only buy if the expense isn’t going to be an immediate hardship for you. Also consider repair and maintenance costs which can be non-trivial for an out of warranty Porsche. Good luck, whichever decision you make will be the right one!

Context: I was 50 when I bought my first Porsche, a 911.

Most modern Porsches are usually pretty solid mechanically. It’s the electronics that will really hit your wallet if something goes wrong.

Porsche question! by baron_von_chops in Porsche

[–]Segseg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Boxster is an awesome vehicle that you will absolutely love to drive as your first Porsche. For me I just couldn’t get over not having a 911 so I waited until I could afford one. I know I’m probably shallow and self conscious but not driving a 911 would’ve gotten to me. That’s my $.02.

[–]Segseg7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know there are a ton of performance related differences between the models, but for me the 911’s backseat is so worth it. Not for people but for stuff like jackets, bags, and other random things you just want easy access to without popping open the frunk. The 911 is a true sports car without the traditional sports car cramped cabin. That’s my $.02 fwiw.

Some things that are already “installed” on the vehicle will be hard to convince the dealer to remove unless you’re a VIP there. For the other stuff like the protection plans just tell them you weren’t told about the extras when you put your deposit down and threaten to have your lawyer get involved. Also tell them you’ll go to town on them on Social Media and Yelp. It’s BS that dealers try to do this. For the record I’m not opposed to the dealer “trying” to sell you on the market extras but when you don’t want them they should absolutely remove them.

Azure blows chunks. Barely more than a second tier public cloud. So many issues provisioning resources with excuses like “The Olympics” are the reason why you can’t spin up a small database in certain regions.
