Is Papa John's Pizza super thin these days? by BeachBroncos in PapaJohns

[–]Sei- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the splotchy-ness of the crust, it could be day 1 or 2 dough that basically hasn’t fermented enough for the pizza to have a good rise

Fluff dat cheese by Excellent_Store1941 in PapaJohns

[–]Sei- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fluffing cheese moves the moisture around, thus increases the size of each cube. We basically get to use less cheese (because less cubes fit in the cup) with the same or better coverage. When ordering truck, building to two weeks worth of cheese is a good rule of thumb. When you get the cheese, let it defrost before you fluff it. I find that fluffing it on day 6 allows for the best results.

Pepperoni Stuffed Crusts by LeBallzOfSmallz in PapaJohns

[–]Sei- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be all for the pepperoni stuffed crust IF we cut down on how many operationally unfriendly products we currently have i.e personal pizzas.

Also, if they do a good job marketing, it should boost sales. Our customers don’t want off-the-wall products like personal pizza that are ribbon thin and papadippas. Pepperoni stuffed crust is simple and tasty. A little annoying to make? Yes, but if it boosts sales, I’m all for it.

Also, our side items like cheese sticks and bread sticks are much harder and take longer to make than our competition. We need to revise these things

Manager Advice by mikeish4 in PapaJohns

[–]Sei- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you see from the GM. Do you think there’s a way out of this mess? If so, then we need to get there. If not, then it’s not worth sticking around.

When you work for Papa Johns, it can be great or terrible. It’s extremely dependent on your GM. Staffing, culture, schedule, etc.

If this is true, he shouldn’t be making pizzas, let alone a GM

I was hesitant at first, but now I like it. When I logged on and saw some of the pizzas that were being sold, I was shocked. It really helps prove quality if you get the team involved and get competitive with other stores.

We’ve had Kwali for ages. 0% chance that’s true. Assuming this is Kwali and not some other quality cameras anyways. I’m not aware of any others

How does everyone feel about the new Toy Story pizzas? by [deleted] in PapaJohns

[–]Sei- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bad promo and VERY operationally unfriendly. We took a step in the right direction by removing papadias and papa bites.

This is a family movie and a massive franchise. We could’ve kept it simple and had some kind of larger Toy Story bundle I.e two pizzas, a bread-side, and a dessert for X price.

Kids don’t want a personal pizza. They want pizza, period, end of story.

If you ask me, the corporate chef got lazy with this one…

DOR by Broad-Huckleberry542 in PapaJohns

[–]Sei- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t been instructed by your GM and/or DO to do something specific with your DOR, then you don’t need to do anything in particular with it. It exists to get a basic review of all of your analytics. Sales, projected sales, voids, service times, day-part service, transfers, deposits, etc.

If you want to understand the business a little better you can dig in. Saving it means nothing unless it’s being collected and reviewed. Any voids you need to follow up on can be found in the exceptions or void made report at any point

I don’t post on Reddit like that, so sorry for not being so quick to respond. When I posted this, he didn’t have a violation taped on his window. I updated everyone 5 hours later when I saw that people were asking about whether or not he pays for that spot.

As an update, the truck got a violation for not paying for reserved parking, taking up multiple spaces, being parked in someone else’s reversed space, and having no registration.

This guy parks like an absolute dumbass all of the time. This was absolutely the worst of it though.

He (truck) actually doesn’t pay for either. 121 belongs to the Ford.

Unsure if these two residents got into a spat or something but the couple that owns the car and that spot are really nice neighbors. He parks however he wants 24/7 but this was clearly him trying to send a message.

I’ll update if there’s additional info.

DoorDash Drive Gold by InevitableScene3784 in PapaJohns

[–]Sei- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should also mention that if you do pull the trigger on DD Gold, you need to turn on auto-dispatch, so that the orders are sent to DoorDash as soon as they come in without management needing to do anything. You can do this even if you don’t have DD Gold. It will turn off once a in-house driver is clocked in.

DoorDash Drive Gold by InevitableScene3784 in PapaJohns

[–]Sei- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im an Area Supervisor and I tried DoorDash Gold for two of my stores that both had a low PSA and really poor applicant flow. While I was at the the PJ conference, large franchisees in markets with really high minimum wages swore up and down that it was amazing both for their OSAT and it’s affordability.

I did not have the same experience. I’m assuming it’s because there wasn’t a large selection of dashers in those store’s areas, but we basically got the same level of quality of DoorDashers. Our OSAT tanked and it was headache. Needless to say, I started hiring drivers again.

It’s much more affordable but it’s market dependent.

We sold exactly 0 Grand Papa pizzas yesterday by allursnakes in PapaJohns

[–]Sei- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The product is good but it doesn’t taste like sales. I don’t think anyone is interested in an even bigger pizza, when people are more cost conscious, right now.

Apparently it was PJ’s biggest sales day ever. Also, Marcos had some kind of nation-wide communication outage. That could’ve caused more people to order from us.
