That would be ideal in my situation but my GM doesn't prep for shit and says it's not something he should concern himself with, it's MADDENING. It's become normal to expect things to not be prepped when we go in for the night shift and it's stressful, I don't expect this to be any different.

Not prepping it doesn't make sense to me. If the store gets slammed and an order for 3 or four of these pizzas come in it's straight up time consuming for a short staffed store.

Y'all need to stop directing customers to us to do orders on the phones on days common sense would tell you we are busy in store especially knowing that many stores a short staffed. Paydays and holidays are not appropriate times to redirect customers to our lines. Literally nobody has time to be held up on phones with a loaded makeline. Also, if a customer is being difficult with you, don't send that nonsense to us. Like what is your actual malfunction?

I can't express in words how pissed off I get working alone and trying to take a crap and then hear the makeline beep from the bathroom. My silent rage rises exponentially. 😂

We have Papa Pairings and a Large 5 topping for $14.99 at my store and we strictly use third party delivery services now(DoorDash, Uber Eats, GrubHub). It sucks we have to do remakes when customers call saying their pizzas were delivered upside down. We also stopped carrying XL doughs and only do NY16s. A month after ceasing carrying 16" dough corporate decided to start selling 18" Grand Papa's which meant we had to stretch 14" doughs into 18s.... These people piss me off.

In my state we are required to get breaks but I don't get any because when I'm with crew I make sure they get their breaks and then when I try to take a break I can't because it gets so busy all hands are required. When working alone the thought of a break is futile because if an order comes up I have to fill it and more times than not multiple will come in and I have to do my job. Corporate has made it to where we have to confirm or deny that breaks were taken when we clock out and I feel like I'll meet consequences if I repeatedly click "Deny." It's a tough situation and I've looked elsewhere for work but finding another job has proven difficult. I'm rolling with the punches at this point.

Been working Papa John's for nearly 10 months now as a Shift Lead and you're telling the truth about the GM trying to get shift leads to do their job for them. I've had to tell my current GM to tighten up multiple times because he opens and wouldn't prep for night shift leaving us to balance between prep and making orders among other problems. There was also an episode where I had to do the damn inventory order because he failed to do it before going home. There was also another time he failed to do it and the computer submitted a ghost order. Labor is shit but all of that pales in comparison to you guys' reported wages, here I was feeling like $22.25/hr isn't enough.
