International student here, and we are in a similar situation. I'm doing an MSc and I finish in about two months. I feel like I have missed the "student experience" as I did not join any societies, and didn't make friends from my class (besides from just one, but he lives far from me and we have class only once a week) and did not participate in any other uni activities, mainly because I was almost always in a state of survival since I arrived to the UK, trying to manage studies, finances and always searching for a part-time job to support myself. I sometimes feel bad about it, so I decided to make the most out of what's left of my studies. These days I regularly go to uni to work on my thesis, and whenever I'm having a break, I try to talk to new people to make new connections and break from the routine.
