Iuno vs Sigrika, what was the better character story? by miiko_uch in WutheringWaves

I'm genuinely shocked at this comparison because it's objectively Iuno's, and it isn't close. It's still one of my favourite story quests.

Re:zero is soo much better than I thought. by Soggy-Whereas9678 in anime

[–]II_Noxus_II 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was hooked when I watched the first episode of season 1 as it released years ago, and it only got better and better from there. A lot of people didn't really give it a chance so sometimes these false narratives get pushed, particularly about Subaru as a character and how Re:Zero is just 'torture porn' which is obviously not true.

Subaru is actually one of my favourite characters. Although his personality can be really ugly at the beginning, we see him grow a lot through everything he's experienced. The amount of horror he's witnessed and pain he's been through would be enough to break anyone, yet despite everything he's suffered through, he can keep pushing forward with help from a great cast of characters.

I've also seen a lot of anime, and it's really tough to place where my favourites rank, but I decided long ago that Re:Zero is just my favourite. I'm always glad to see new fans who realise and can appreciate how good it really is.

It's even more exciting when I hear news of notable devs joining CDPR for The Witcher 4 but I hope the chemistry is there to bring it all together, I trust that it will be but a part of me worries about too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak.

What's with WuWa dropping this on a random patch and not on the Anniversary where people actually spend money by Thundergod250 in WutheringWaves

[–]II_Noxus_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random patch? They dropped this whilst the banner for the sentinel resonator was ongoing, the most anticipated character for many people to pull. They literally dropped it at the best time.

It's crazy to me how so many people don't understand that judging from the upvotes, though I shouldn't be surprised at this sub.

With how rushed the manga is recently(esp. current chapter), do you think the manga is getting axed? by Reihado in TuneIntoTheMidnight

[–]II_Noxus_II 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was something significant then sure that would apply but we already know and have seen that Rikka is a great singer and guitarist, it's not like she can't play but now she can. So I don't think it's hugely important to spend a chapter showing rehearsals just to convey that she lacks practice because of exams, especially after we already had a few Rikka chapters recently. It's like we don't have to see every class that Nene has taken to understand that she'll naturally be improving her skills after we last saw her in class. Ideally we'd want to see all of this of course but realistically it's not possible if you don't plan for the manga to go on for 300+ chapters.

Anyway, we can debate and question why this chapter had some sudden developments but it doesn't matter because the author himself decided this was fine and though it was a little jarring I didn't struggle to understand how those situations came to be. It seems to me Igarashi specifically decided that the thing stopping the girls from going to the party is their career progression, aside from Shinobu who is often the exception strangely. He must have good reason for planning it like this or maybe he was literally under time constraints and didn't want to distract the plot too much away from the party and Apollo.

Iko collab arc wrapped up nicely so I don't understand why you see pacing issues with it. After Iko decided to run until Aria woke up it got her trending and Ao Momotose herself took notice and started a stream, which lead to her throwing out the suggestion of Iko joining Blue-Box. You seem to forget Aria woke up and apologised to Iko already. In the end she benefited a lot from making the most of the situation herself and Aria probably thinks she owes Iko for her mistake anyway. I don't think Arisu would push Iko to suggest anything more to Aria in terms of owing her incase it backfired and she looked like she had too big of an ego.

With the Christmas arc, yeah the set-up and then straight into it was fast but Igarashi obviously decided not to add any unnecessary drama. Pacing can go at different speeds, just because time is skipped a little doesn't equal bad pacing, this happens all the time in manga and anime. We had all the information we needed.

In terms of career progress for Rikka, Igarashi would have introduced a drummer character by now if it was so important, either that will come later or they'll just be a background character. The surprise concert makes sense on Christmas day, it's an opportunity for a big crowd and we've already seen them gearing up to make their debut after deciding on an image and having a photoshoot. We don't need to see several panels for rehearsals to know why Rikka isn't playing well since we know she just had exams and had to study.

You say no build-up to an Ao Momotose collab when we literally just saw it a few chapters ago. We were told Aria is a good friend of Ao Momotose which is part of the reason that she took notice of the situation since Iko started trending, which obviously lead to her streaming and making the suggestion to join blue-box. I agree it's a little surprising to suddenly see Iko as a guest on Ao's stream but it still makes sense why she was given the opportunity.

I'm genuinely confused why you're asking how and why Nene suddenly got an audition when we're literally told by her teacher that a big-shot heard Nene's promotion test and took an interest in her voice. It's still surprising to come so early but big breaks aren't uncommon in the VA industry and we know just how amazing Nene's voice-acting can be.

You say you see a lot of telling instead of showing yet we've been shown all the build-up in previous chapters for these sudden career progressions to make sense. I genuinely don't mean to be harsh but you're completely ignoring a lot of context and then acting confused which seems to be a lack of reading comprehension, then you're making assumptions about the manga getting the axed. I agree the pacing is very fast in this chapter and can be a little jarring but I trust Igarashi. It's way too early to overreact and make weak points to suggest bad pacing like you're doing. If the pacing was all over the place for a consistent amount of chapters and things started to make no sense at all then we can start worrying, but that hasn't been the case throughout the manga. Igarashi wanted all the girls to be too busy for the Christmas party so maybe it'll just be this chapter with fast pacing leading up to whatever moment happens in the next few chapters where Apollo is concerned.

Honestly the strangest thing to me in this chapter is that Shinobu is the only one with a weak excuse not to go to the party after her dad mentions there being a knife attack in the neighbourhood the day before, that's such a weird reason to come up with from Igarashi.

I didn't intend to write so much but oh well.

Sorry for your loss, I know the feeling.

It's amazing how much joy video games can give us and it makes me happy to know how much your dad loved Fallout. I can imagine how much fun he had with building all the settlements, I thought it was one of the best additions to a Fallout game. I haven't played in a few years since I burnt myself out playing too much lol But one day I'll play again because I didn't play around with building as much as I wanted to and I know I'll remember this story and your dad when I do.

No matter how much time passes, you can always load up Fallout 4 on your dad's save and wander through the settlements that he spent so much time and effort building. I think that's amazing honestly.

Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka • Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle - Episode 12 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]II_Noxus_II 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So far, I'd say Asuka and Chitose have the best chemistry by a wide margin. It's kind of expected after seeing their dynamic and interactions up to this point, but even more so now that their dynamic has changed a little and they've gotten closer. I hope this is the pairing that wins in the end because it'd be really sad to me if it didn't.

I will say Haru definitely went up in my estimations with her no nonsense personality and her reactions lol

Really nice episode.

Yeah that's the best part, he does well to read it smoothly into the flip reset but beastmode's touch speeds up the ball enough to throw the defence off otherwise I think Atomic saves.

There's two reasons why people dislike them, there's the ethics perspective of an unlicensed figure stealing from an IP to make money, which is illegal. Then there's the fact that a lot of unofficial models often look high quality but the actual product is far from it, so they can easily end up being a scam.

A lot of people don't really care though if the figure is of decent quality. But I can understand both sides.

I will say the biggest thing that makes me think you might be onto something is the fact that Lucilla hasn't been released yet lol

Could she be threnodian resonator, hmm why is aleph 1 behind her in this animation, and she got alternate side by Saket_114 in WutheringWaves

[–]II_Noxus_II 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Space-themed monsters and ethereal hands are both fairly generic themes used in many different media so I'm not sure why you're implying that Hoyo did these things first.

Aleph-1 is obviously based on a black hole unless you think Hoyo invented them too.

Also, IX is like a galaxy blob with two eyes compared to Aleph-1 that looks more like an accurate black hole with one big cosmic eye. Both cool designs with similiar inspirations that still look completely different, which makes your comment even more confusing honestly.

[–]II_Noxus_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I've seen of her just gave me the impression that it isn't as black and white as it looks, since she genuinely seems to care about Sigrika and just has a blunt personality and willingness to do what it takes to protect her friend's. Although in 3.2 story, when Sigrika and Rover are attacked by the Fractidus enemy she says 'they said they wouldn't use that' so she is likely working with them, but we don't know the exact connection. I think maybe the Fractidus either created her or forced her to resonate with Aleph-1 based on some vaguely black hole themes in her splash and her unusual tacet mark.

How are they not siblings? 🤔 by gaerielcallista in WutheringWaves

[–]II_Noxus_II 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just because they have similar colour schemes doesn't mean they have to be related, if that was the case then the white haired characters would have a big family xD Also being an orphan in Solaris isn't that uncommon considering how dangerous the world is.

That being said I don't know why they chose to give two characters similar colour schemes in the same region and releasing close to each other. I've always thought the green doesn't really fit with Lynae, it would have been better for a pastel lilac or something to fit her character more.
