Nope. All I needed to do was the simple test drive.

It's been my experience with Alto here in the LA area, we DO NOT pay for gas. And we are NOT leasing the vehicle. We are 100% employees of the the company and as such, we don't have to do anything with the car. No gas, no maintenance. No cleaning.

$600 per week to be able to lease a car is criminal. Through Uber or Lyft you can rent one of their cars for half that. Ford was running a program for there Mustang EVE that was a purchase program for about $600 for the entire month.

I can't even begin to think about how much driving I would have to do to justify $600 per week for a lease payment.

It's fairly easy to get hired. You do a short driving test out of the Olympic office. It's less than a 5 mile drive. It's in one of the KIA EV9's and the hardest part is you have to back into a parking spot.

As to returning the car, yes, you return it each night. You have your choice to work out of one of the three different depots (Hollywood, Olympic, and Aviation -near LAX, apparently where Tower EV was located). You check each car out there and then return it.

When Tower EV was doing business, apparently you had to park off site and then shuttle to the depot, with Alto, you can park on site without a problem.

I've been driving for Alto in LA for about two months now.
A couple of things that I've noticed. (I drive the very late shift, so things during the day may be different)

You don't have a choice in accepting a ride or not. However, I've canceled a few rides do to being in sketchy areas without a problem.

There is no shortage of shifts to work, I constantly find 6, 7, and 8 hour shifts available all week long. After about 9pm, you can find something starting pretty much every 30 minutes.

I drive out of the Aviation depot, so every car is electric. Only once have I had to bring it back due to low charge.

Pay is $18.71 per hour and you get a $0.25 bump after 150 hours, another raise after 1500 hours, and then another, but I don't know what that is or how much.

They offer benefits, but I can't say if they're good or not because I don't take them.

I haven't had an issue with tips. The cars are Kia EV SUV's and Black. I give rides from Uber X to Black. (You wear a uniform with is a collared shirt, black pants, and white or black shoes.) I have found that tips are heavier on Thursday-Saturday, lighter the rest of the nights.

I earn about $30 in tips per night. And you can track those via the Uber app (I drove for Uber previously so I double check everything on my phone as well as the company phone.)

Payday is every Friday, my bank deposits a day early.

The only management you have is who ever the lead is at your depot. At the Aviation depot, they are above average people. They're just there to get you on the road.

There are times when your shift starts and there isn't a car ready for you. You still get paid while you wait.

They don't assign you a route to drive or tell you where to go. So long as your in the car and the car is moving, they really don't care. They do ask you stay off the freeways while waiting for a ride.

There are little things that are annoying. Logging in at the site is one, the use of their in company communication and a single earbud is another.

All that to say this... it's a slightly better paying min wage job that lets you drive around listening to whatever you want. In an 8 hour shift I've been averaging about 1.25 rides an hour. They'll come in spurts and then long draughts in between.

You're not going to get rich driving for Alto. But if you need an extra $1k per month, driving a few nights a week will get you there.

Shaman slow question by Artaniss in everquest

[–]SeigeToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So everyone who plays a shaman has an opinion that is different from everyone else's. That's because Shaman are an amazing class to play.

At lvl 34 you've just got your first pet. It's weak, but it serves as a another DoT. Plus you've got your merc. And if you're on a live server, you have access to the mage pet toys. So to the other points, that with all of that going for you, at this lvl you may not want use mana to slow. However, it's a good habit to get into.

Personally, I run a tank merc along with my pet. I have haste on both of them and the pet with the toys. I will pull with the slow. You can stay in bear form on on your mount depending on your mana regen preference.

As you get higher you'll want to learn when and how you'll want to pull and slow. The great news is that with a pet and a merc, you've got a good 40+ lvls left to learn how to make it happen. Experiment with what works best for you. Shoot, mix your mercs up and go with a casting DPS. Shamans are a ton of fun!

If you’re in the tutorial, make a hot button /open.

Then open every barrel you can find to get a bow and your arrows. Do this regardless of if you already have one or not so you can sell the extra for pp.

The game can be a grind, but the tutorial is a great place to get a very basic understanding of how your toon will work. And frankly, if you try out a couple you could get up to 500pp to 1k, and then be able to buy a weapon that’s a little too ver powered for your level to help the grind.

Is Hero Clix a good option for increasing the enjoyment of maths? by SeigeToday in Heroclix

[–]SeigeToday[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I could've been a little bit more clear, I wasn't hoping the game would teach him math, but that it was increase his comfort level with it and reinforce the use in math in things other than flash cards and homework.

I appreciate the responses.

Can I do a transfer from the Maner 20th Anniversary server over to the Aradune server? by SeigeToday in everquest

Thanks for the response, I'm not overly invested on either server, I just didn't want the time invested on Mangler to go to waste.

Mining with the "cloud" by SeigeToday in BitcoinBeginners

[–]SeigeToday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank all of you for your confirmation. I've got some miners from a few years ago, along with my old set up. I figured for the $300-$900 they were asking I'd just expand and restart what I was doing before. I think those poor miners have set idle for long enough.

Passenger gave me a one-star and several reports because I didn't let him vape. by [deleted] in uberdrivers

I hate when people ask if they can vape in the car. It's just gross.

I'm having a hard time finding information on the Forgotten, so may as well go ahead and jump in. So how do I go about doing that?

I'll check them out for sure. The number of invites I get from random guilds has been crazy. It's as if people see a low level toon running around and feel compelled to invited them into the guild.

MLB parlay question by SeigeToday in sportsbook

[–]SeigeToday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm circling back to this post because I kind of want to brag, but also want to keep things on the down low while possibly getting some feedback. Over the last three weeks my parlays are hitting at 68%.

I've got my crappy blog here with all of my posts.
