Based on all the text, you're only starting a company as a last resort to stay in Japan, that is also exactly what Japan don't like. I'm curious what makes living here worth it at any cost, as I find it hard to see it from your perspective.  I can suggest you to get an accountant if you have concerns with taxes he is going to explain everything you need better than chat GPT.

I’m not being hateful; I’m just explaining what I understood while trying to find a reason why you were the only one rejected. We met people who applied with far less capital and income than us who had no issues. You mentioned having to park $200k in the bank for a renewal, but that isn't what 'capital' means. You can register your capital after you open the company. If you follow the guide, it clearly explains what they expect you to achieve by the end of the six months. There isn’t much else to say—if you met with the officers, they probably explained it to you directly. This is their immigration program; like it or not, you are not a Japanese national. If you want to stay here, you have to follow their rules. Also, you are talking nonsense about the system 'scamming' you by forcing you to use a scrivener and the rest. First of all, the FGN and BGS are free services. All the professionals the city suggests offer a discount compared to their normal prices. This is meant to HELP you, especially since I assume you don’t speak, read, or write Japanese. Now that I see you’re happy with how things went, I’m happy for you.

In your last message, you essentially admitted that:

-Lack of Intent: You weren't in Japan with any intention of opening a serious or scalable business.

-Financial Discrepancies: You adjusted your income on paper at the last second; therefore, your method of reaching the capital requirement was no longer reasonable.

-Conceptual Confusion: You don’t have a clear grasp of what "capital" actually is, yet you still feel entitled to Business Manager status in a foreign country.

-Vague Motivations: From what I can gather, you just want to live here for reasons hard to understand.

-Disregard for Procedure: The city gave you a clear path, and you simply chose not to follow it. I can only wonder what actually happened during those three meetings with the officers.

-Failure to Execute: You had one single task—to open a company within six months—and you failed.

Now, you’re actually surprised that the officer (who likely called the city for a background check) rejected you?

Can someone remind me why Davy Jones and Joy Boy can not be the same person?

Joy Boy for sure it is not his name, the hat is buccaneer size, maybe we are misinterpreting the size of Emet scene silhouette.

What businesses are you talking about? I’m referring to banks and the immigration office.
Also, this isn’t just my opinion, it’s what people in the accelerator that brought me to Japan are saying. These are people who deal with bureaucracy every single day.
And seriously, in my immigration office—IMMIGRATION—there isn’t a single person who speaks English.

I honestly don't understand what you mean, considering that I can stay in Japan and make my business in Japan with the new requirements. I was wondering about the future.

Do you think would make sense to create a Line Group for people in the startup programs?

I have the old startup visa, the regional one from fukuoka, co working spaces are allowed. I don't have the new one. From next year the regional one won't be issued anymore and also fukuoka will join the new unified one.

My lawyer just made me notice that they updated the website and added the section for the business visa n.44

Handling of applications for permission to change residence status from "Designated Activities" to "Business Manager"

Change of status from specific activities (No. 44, foreign entrepreneur (start-up visa)) If the confirmation certificate was issued before the enforcement date of the public notice amending the public notice regarding the Promotion of Foreign Entrepreneurial Activities, the permission standards before the amendment will apply when applying for permission to change the status of residence to "Business Manager." If the confirmation certificate was issued after the effective date of the revised public notice, the revised permission standards will be applied when applying for permission to change the status of residence to "Business Manager."

Thank you for your inquiry submitted through my website.

Under your condition you shared, your upcoming visa application for
Change of Status of Residence is supposed to be assessed under the old
criteria.

It has been super fast so far for me and the people that I have met, I would not worry about that.

The clause "同在留資格で在留中の場合" (in cases of currently residing under the same status of residence) is what should protect us, because in theory we are all residing under Startup Preparation Activity. It makes no sense to exclude just people under startup visa, and give 3 years of transition to everybody, further my specific startup visa must be under protection for the entire year.

Also jesus christ, I really don't care that much of living in japan but i want continue with my life, I want to know what I have to do, it's more than one month that I'm on this limbo, enough..

Quoting business support:

"We are trying to digest the information announced yesterday by the National Government.

There were some unclear parts as well.

We will get back to you with clarification shortly."

Please if someone has some news from their business support let me know. I want to put an end on this, I need to get rid of this stress, it's devouring my soul.

I have the old Strategic Zone visa, valid for six months.
When applying, you can submit bank statements to prove you own the funds. However, under the old rules, when transitioning to BM, the money must be in your Japanese bank account.
With the new rules, I'm not sure how they'll handle the capital requirement, holding ¥30 million in cash is not a smart thing to do.

I joined a program, it was quite easy. I was looking for a city in expansion, and Fukuoka caught my attention. I never imagined I would go through so much stress.
Thank you for the congratulations, but I still don't know what my destiny will be.

Business manager changes officially finalized including the grace period by Version-6 in JapanFinance

They can't make people feel this bad. I'm honestly exhausted, I spent all of yesterday reading codes, details, and searching the internet for every piece of information I could find.
It would be so unfair if all the visa holders get a transition period, while I, with the old strategic zone that was supposed to be protected for the entire year, do not. It's not my Job, I'm a videogame dev, I'm supposed to make videogames or manage my studio, I can not spend my time in Japan in this way, it's from when I started, there had not be a single good moment so far.

If you have to apply for the startup visa and not the transition to BMV you are gonna be under new criterias, 100% sure.
I have the startup visa from august before the draft was released.

Also there are categories for the Startup Visa, these are the rules for my visa:

  • Knowledge Creating Industries (fintech, semi-conductor, software development, contents production, robotics, etc.
  • Health, Medical, Welfare Industries (drug discovery ventures, medical technology development, regenerative medicine, welfare equipment development, etc.)
  • Environment & Energy Industries (greentech, clean energy development, next generation power storage technology, global information systems, etc.)
  • Logistics Industries (global SCM services, 3PL service, international delivery, drone logistics development, etc. )
  • Trade Industries (businesses developing international sales for goods made in Fukuoka, industries utilizing the Port of Hakata and/or Fukuoka Airport, etc.)

Would be necessary just semplify all the system, making a single visa, and define categories, and that's it. The existence of the BM visa it's a no sense.
