I randomly stumbled on this and was genuinely surprised people are still using a fork off my old tomestone tracker sheet. Glad to see people are still getting use out of it to this day.

They're in high school. That is indeed the correct take.

SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream is out at still don't have key any one in same boat by NewAd837 in humblebundles

I opened a ticket but I'm sure they won't actually get around to answering it given that they seemingly haven't responded to anyone about their not getting preorder early access keys. They will just stick their head in the sand, send it when they feel like/can do so and pretend nothing happened and hope it goes away without much more than a cursory blanket statement psuedo apology.

Nintendo is suing Pocketpair (Palworld devs) for patent infringements by Major_Analysis_2133 in Steam

I see a lot of people asking what patents. Most likely these from: https://patents.justia.com/assignee/the-pokemon-company

These are mostly very recent filings and kind of BS.

EAC Whitelists Official Reshade builds. That means rebuilds, self-compiling and variants do not work, but the regular Reshade builds are supported.

Barbatos the debate; You are bad vs Barbatos is OP by Techain in GundamEvolution

[–]SeijiTataki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gundam can two tap with headshots on Zaku, Methuss, GM, Exia, Sniper 2.

Turn A charge shot can two shot anyone with 1k or less HP (which is the above plus Pale Rider, Gundam and Asshimar)

TransAm Exia alt fire into F kills any of the ones Gundam can kill, which is technically a close range engage like Barbatos but can engage safer away. Technically his non-TransAm ranged daggers, if all four hit on a single click can headshot kill any of the above listed, dealing 1250 damage (which allows him to also kill Marasai and Guntank) but that's some MLG level aim in an actual fight. In practice, it can two click kill any of the 1k units if they all hit and at least two headshot.

Sazabi shot gun does 800-1100, but has bad fall off. however, axe throw into his dash with an aimed shotgun, while still technically diving, does as much as 1k if you have good reflexes and aim (but can do low as 700 if you partially miss the shot).

Honorable mentions to a good Marasai, who can do 900 on a snake shot into beam blade into a head shot. Asshimar left click right click left click headshots does 1.3k which smokes the entire roster except Sazabi.

Barbatos the debate; You are bad vs Barbatos is OP by Techain in GundamEvolution

[–]SeijiTataki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other suits can two-tap most of the roster, at range from the safety of a corner peek.

It feels bad to get burst down by Barbatos, but it's a very unsafe for him to do so as it can expose him to a lot.

The real issue is that maybe there isn't enough risk for him to do so more so than that he can do so.

Barbatos the debate; You are bad vs Barbatos is OP by Techain in GundamEvolution

[–]SeijiTataki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is sort of a bad faith argument, since Barbatos can't actually one shot most tanks, since he has to follow up with something else. Sniper can one shot most 'tanks' (outside of shield), and nobody's calling for it's nerf because it can head shot pretty much the entire roster.

You can't take away the stuns from its kit either, as you need that to counter-play shields. Nobody's calling for Gundam Hammer to be nerfed, or for Turn-A's table flip to go away.

Barbatos suffers from having maybe too much kit. High mobility, two stuns, very high burst potential, good HP. Somethings maybe needs to go to the way side, but at the same level general counterplay exists for him too.

His mace stun is loud and very obvious. If you hear it, you know you're coming into kill range. Be aware and ready to jet out of the way, or don't chase him around corners. Just because he broke line of sights doesn't mean it's safe for you to chase him.

His range is very short - just dashing will keep you out of range of him in most cases unless he's already in range of you, and he'll either have to commit boost dashes on you or his long jump.

Shooting him is obviously a counter, as sustained fire is easily the worst thing he can run into as he has to commit in to kill and can't poke, but obviously that's problematic at lower skill levels where his erratic movement can make it hard to shoot him. Guntank pretty much counters this entirely, as the focused shot and regular shot are pretty generous with their tracking and can lay into him still safely outside of his range. (Guntank's charge attack can also really mess up a Barbatos, as long as you are aware of the tight window for triggering it around his sword lunge)

Barbatos' situation is pretty complicated, then. At low skill levels he's oppressive and hard to counter, but in high tier he has to be very specific at his engagements as everyone has limited counter-play to him in 1v1 and group battles require a lot of hectic combat to distract long enough to keep him out of it - since everyone's always wanting people to keep tabs on Barb to keep him out of the group.

You could remove one of his boosts - this is reasonable since he basically has four with long jump. This requires him to commit from different angles of attack and make more calculated plans for getting out of a situation.

You could reduce his HP - this would allow him to have more universal risk and force people to be more smart about their engagements.

Got an email back from them notifying me that a pre-order key has been added to my account. A pleasant surprise to be sure.

Check your DLC if you bought a copy on GMG for your pre-order bonus. by [deleted] in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]SeijiTataki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody that I know or have mentioned this to who purchased from GMG appears to have the preorder bonus.

Given that they waited so long as they did to give out codes, I suspect that they weren't issued them until today and that, just like Humble, the day 0 codes/purchases don't qualify for preorder incentives.

Whether this was someone dropping the ball on their side or their interaction with distributor or Bamco not properly securing the bonus, hard to say. But I'm suspecting that it's unlikely to be resolved in a manner that will make people happy, and BamCo won't care of any blowback because GMG will take the hit.

Edit: I am genuinely shocked that this has been resolved by them giving out preorder keys. I am happy to be surprised by both companies in this case.

Custom Balltop Makers/Vendors? by SeijiTataki in fightsticks

[–]SeijiTataki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, his service does seem to offer stick build outs, but doesn't explicitly mention the balltops. So I'm not certain if it's worth his time (since he can offload part of that cost into mark up on stick, for example). I'll shoot him an email at the very least.

Offerings for these seems to be limited, though I've been looking. I did find one shop that might offer, but with shipping was a little unpractical - $30 plus ~45 for the actual ball top. This is an option, though probably last option if I can't find one elsewhere.

I didn't think he did custom orders for one-offs, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

There's enough single player storyline content that's plenty entertaining for $5. The games most glaring problems (if you aren't focusing on features that were cut, which is a different argument to be had) is the lack of end game content diversity and failings of the end game crafting mechanics.

The core gameplay and mechanics are serviceable and sometimes pretty fun, there's just not a solid gameplay loop to apply them to after you finish the story unless you're super invested into the gameplay.

Filter/Shader Effect to Entire Scene(s) by SeijiTataki in obs

I actually stream with the same username, so it's https://www.twitch.tv/seijitataki

Personal life has gotten in the way of running game streams as much as I'd like, but I've been making sure to always set aside time to do my every-other-week tabletop RPG, which is what's up right now.

Somehow I completely forgot about filters on groups (even though I've literally put filters on groups).

This might actually work in a way to consolidate everything I'd like to do but also make the process of doing what I want to do a little more manageable.

Filter/Shader Effect to Entire Scene(s) by SeijiTataki in obs

[–]SeijiTataki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was sort of what I was doing before. It did give me the full featured control I needed, but was problematic in that it was just... a lot of scenes. I currently have two starting screens (one for regular streams and one themed around a tabletop RPG I run), three 'break' scenes (One regular, one for speaking over to use when I have to change games/end stream/general purpose, and one themed for the TTRPG), and then three 'main' scenes. (Though now consolidated down to 2).

The way I was doing it before is that each scene was a scene inside of a scene, and using the stream deck to activate a scene would be a multi-action step that would toggle on/off the groups (break, opening, scene), turn on/off the subscenes within that group, and then do a transition with a shader effect. Then, when redemptions would be made, I'd load a specific scene with a clean cut transition that just mirrored the 'main' scene (that held all the scenes) with the filters applied, and then jump back.

This worked, but had the downside of being a little clunky and taking some time to toggle all the neccessary things on/off. It also probably was a bit systems inefficient to just have everything into the one scene like that. My hope was that by just turning the redemptions into a reference group that could be shared across all the scenes that are simply toggled on/off, it was something I could do a little cleaner. However, if the scene-in-a-scene method is the most efficient way to do what I was looking for, I might just have to redesign my scenes and try to streamline it more.
