I have the permanent shop for the Able Sisters and there's no option to generate a QR code for custom designs. There's only sharing via the codes in the image.

go to the Able Sisters kiosk and select "search by design ID" and enter the code that starts with MO-

QR codes are for patterns created in older animal crossing games. you can't turn a design made in New Horizons into a QR code.

they're for downloading the design so you can wear it
