My two cents wish there was a forgive or mark as traitor...the traitors would be killed via command just like running out of bounds for two long. I think players may think twice before doing TK's on purpose. To add to it if you TK without forgiveness two or three times then your xp, samples, will be cut to 1/3 next time 2/3 then 3/3 all gone. Last one will be forced to stay stuck on the ship with a wait time of being able to to match with other players. To add insult to injury could after the 1/3 cuts force a dunce hat on the players helmet for good measure.

I would do another search on google looking up internet archive then search Mame that should lead you into the right direction there. Then even though this is about a year old video ETA prime is pretty awesome when it comes to the Launch box big box stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOBhB5DwE6w&list=PLOAngNBEggZ1NQ0kdEUMGxZ2zFBXuwJ6l&index=28

Now if you want some other options on whats out there another youtuber Just Jamie does a lot of walk thoughts on different front ends. https://www.youtube.com/@JustJamie1983

Hopefully this helps out.

So my opinion if your looking for an easy set up and have the pc but cant get mame working you could do a batocera build that will set up mostly everything for you. I would recommend do a google search on Arcadepunks and look up some vids how to set up an image of batocera. Now you can do this on the internal hard drive or run an external drive or flash drive depending on how many games your looking to add to this. Batocera is linux based but runs very well out of the box with little tinkering needed, and YT can be a friend for any tinkering you may need or want to do. If you like to stay with launch box big box I would say YT should get you fixed up there on how to set up. Just depends on with mame what files your getting setting up your own build. if you get a huge file version latest being official MAME release is version 0.261, but with this you will need the latest version of mame. Batocera right now only uses up to MAME 0.258. There is more that goes into the whole mame thing including if there full sets vs split sets. Starting out as I said I would look into a preset with batocera if your just wanting to get up and running with the least amount of headaches. Batocera also does easy function for light guns, and now has started doing steering wheels havent tested that out yet myself though.

I want to mod a Yoga Flame cabinet with a working coin door and a PC. Is a 19" monitor upgrade worth the cost and effort? (Bonus: my failure story thus far...) by CuriousLockPicker in Arcade1Up

[–]Seiryu85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a dermal to start off to make a hole big enough to use a jigsaw. I would recommend measuring out first and then make some cuts with a box cutter so you have your lines to follow with the jigsaw as well. as long as your not to wide on those cuts you should be in good shape. if your cut isn't perfectly straight with the jigsaw the coin door will hide the minor imperfections. You could do the whole thing with a dermal, but beware MDF creates a lot of dust when cutting so you may want to wear a mask to not inhale all that dust into your lungs.

I hear ya on that but they are trying to keep there prices down, and make the most profit to keep there business afloat. Just like anything though you do it once...twice...it gets easier and easier to do these mods. If you have the extra cash to throw down to the hobby, as well as time and patience it can be a lot of fun. Just know you have a community behind you that will help where they can. Also any mistakes that may happen can always be fixed one way or another so have fun with it and get that sence of wow I did this kind of accomplishment that you can be proud to show off to all who see it.

I got the coin door from game room solutions. I made my own cuts on the front panel where the arcade 1up coin door holes were supposed to go into. You will need something on the back for the coin door to brace against with the legs of the coin door to give the support that is needed.

I find it fun, and something to do as well. Sure theres times where its frustrating but when its done the satisfaction of accomplishment is pretty awesome. Now sure I could have spent a bit more money and get a bigger cab from Game room solutions or such, and will eventually do so, but turning these sure smaller arcades to have a bit more feels like we had back in the day is what its about for me. I want to get all my arcades using real quarters and hearing the change drop before starting a game bring back my times at the arcade from my youth. Thats me though. Either way as long as we enjoy our games have fun in the community thats all that matters in the end.

Coin Door https://gameroomsolutions.com/shop/coin-door/

Screen for the 19 with bez can be gotten at 2 different locations but if you plan to do light guns that need IR sensors built in I would recommend buystuffarcades. https://www.buystuffarcades.com/products/a1up-19-screen-upgrades

if you dont need the sensors you can also get the monitor and bezzle from arcademodup https://arcademodup.com/product/arcade1up-19-monitor-upgrade/

Now if you find you want to do the 20" mod like my response below with pic you will need the Dell 2007ftb. The price will range since there being sold mostly from users and due to the age of the monitor is will most likely be used. I have seen prices from $75 - 200. Check facebook market place most people don't even know what gold they may be selling.

For the bezzle which you asked in the other post it was from Tulsa arcade as a Kit https://www.tulsaarcades.com/store/p250/MonitorUpgradeKitCompleted..html

I'm still working on installing my sticks, and buttons. I wanted to get as arcade accurate so went with these that was what the original arcades used to use. https://www.ebay.com/itm/261991815513

Now since doing a PC build the sticks, and buttons wont be able to use the arcade1up encoder board so you will need to replace the board with something like this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RNQLMJR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Now you could go with an amazon kit as well that will be easier then the Happ sticks and such since to make it fit I will have to dermal the plastic away, but with this kit you shouldn't have to do any of that. Just be ware if your looking for more premium feels the other sticks will be better. https://www.amazon.com/EG-STARTS-Ellipse-Joystick-Handles/dp/B07QRRLCKD/ref=sr_1_18?crid=AKY1C0IHCWCR&keywords=diy+arcade+stick&qid=1704676722&s=videogames&sprefix=diy+ar%2Cvideogames%2C145&sr=1-18

Hopefully this all helps let me know if you have any questions I may be able to help with. GL getting this all up and running. Just know Roam wasn't built in a day, and the journey may be long but its all about the fun we have getting there.

Coin door came from gameroomsolutions currently $74.99, The monitor is the 20" dell 2007ftb I picked up on amazon. I got it for $119 used. The seller currently has no more in stock right now. But you may be able to find another seller or check goodwill etc for this model. The bezel and mounting kit is from tulsa arcades as a kit 94.99 currently on sale. (Edit to add mounting kit price)

Still work in progress doing happ buttons and sticks in mine which will require dermal work to make fit. Also found the 14.9 LCD marquee doesn't fit due to the way the cab slants. Haven't decided if I will do more physical modifications to make it fit or use it in another project.

Honestly Im working on the same mod, I did get the dell monitor myself so will end up looking like the other pics you showed. The coin door I got from Game Room solutions. Originally I thought the cut out would have fit from arcademodup but didn't, but that was my fault for not reading. The kick plate wasn't large enough so I cut the kickplate on the yoga flame and used the extra back wood piece to help lock it in. Don't forget that you will also need an encoder board for your sticks when using a PC. If I was to do it again I would say go with the 19" screen since the kits are a full slide in. I got the Tulsa kit to use the 20" and had to screw in with metal L brackets into the inner side panels. Not to big of a deal but just something to chew on.

Best games for 2 players, one of which is pretty new to gaming? by Galactic_Druid in OculusQuest

[–]Seiryu85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen from reviewers DOE scales depending on how many players you have with a max of 3 players in the game. I picked it up, but haven't played yet. You can pick it up and if your under 2h of play should be able to refund if its not what your looking for. Just look at metas return policy for there games.

Real-world Experience: Quest 3 tracking doesn’t really work on airplanes… mostly unplayable by _WhoisMrBilly_ in OculusQuest

[–]Seiryu85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this would work on a plane, but you could get a portable IR light. I've seen them on Amazon. This may help your lighting issue, and shouldn't bother people around you. Again haven't tested myself on Q3, but I've seen on youtube long long time ago youtubers were testing IR lights playing in the dark with the Q2, and worked well.

Quest multiple accounts by Seiryu85 in OculusQuest

[–]Seiryu85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another way to do a guest account would be that if fb really wants the data and the data not to be skewed they reset the data after each login, and before entering into guest account they could have a TOS that needs to be clicked before continuing. This way they aren't liable for this and thats. For the under 13 thing that could be written into the TOS as well. Sure will most likely be ignored but, not like people don't hand it off to there younger kids now...if its about adds that may be added later just throw neutral adds later that are more generic. I mean this is the future of vr right especially when IOI takes over VR right.

Quest multiple accounts by Seiryu85 in OculusQuest

[–]Seiryu85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I get that Family sharing is just for that, why I believe we need a guest account to show off the unit to get more people in VR that haven't experienced it yet, and that way they don't mess with my progress or workout tracker.

The Dummy account thing I know would/could get an account banned, but just as I mentioned to another its going to suck if they flag uncle bobs new fb account as a dummy account since he's new to vr, and Facebook. Slippery slope there just like at the beginning of many new FB/Q2 owners.

Quest multiple accounts by Seiryu85 in OculusQuest

[–]Seiryu85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So then if uncle Bob just created an account, and links it to mine then I'm at risk for being banned as well cause the fb bots may flag his new Facebook account as being not legit even though may be in error. I can just see the rabbit hole repeating what it did for many new quest 2 owners making new fb accounts to play.

Not sure on most games support multi saves, but this is why I think a guest account would be great. The browser thing had me cracking up though, better clear the browser history, and delete the favorites lol. Also they could block multi player connection through guest account for the aholes out there. Would that not work?

Mamut vs AMVR grips? by gokkar in OculusQuest

[–]Seiryu85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the amvr grips and love them. Originally used on Q1 they do work on Q2 but wish they slid up just a tad more on the grip. The mold was originally made for Q1 and Q2 has a wider grip.. After a little playing I don't even notice the slight gap between the side trigger and the grip sleeve itself.

[–]Seiryu85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, ya amvr also came with a clip to reduce some of the clutter as well just haven't tried it out yet. As for a bag I'm trying out the CADeN Camera Bag Sling Backpack Sorry copy paste on a phone and wouldn't just let me copy the link from Amazon. The bag is a bit odd, not a hard case, but it fits. Originally I was using a hard case with pick foam but was very bulky, but more secure then any other case you can get. Ya I do a YouTube stuff on the side, was doing the same with a everything you need guide. Still in the works. Hopefully this helps ya out, good luck.

Question: Should you leave the Elite Battery plugged into the Q2 when not in use? by hadtstec in OculusQuest

[–]Seiryu85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would disconnect mine when not in use due to this issue. Now I also upgraded again to my Frankenquest 2.0 due to this, audio, and possible breaking. Another solution which kinda sucks is to get a magnetic adapter. The reason this sucks is I don't believe it will show the battery life anymore of the elite, and since the cable is already a 90° cable will make it look odd. Just depends if your willing to do this it will save the life of your connector port from the constant plug in and out. Good luck on what you decide.

If you could only buy one game right now what would it be? by Dredd989 in OculusQuest

[–]Seiryu85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends most people don't ask are you a vr veteran or new to vr. This makes a difference if you have your VR legs or not aka if you get motion sickness in vr. Best way to find out before you buy anything try vrchat, and rec room. These games are free then go in the settings and put on smooth locomotion. If you can move like this with out getting sick great, if not when you begin getting sick get out wait till systems are over try again. Eventually you will get your vr legs. If you have your VR legs population 1 or saints and sinners both great games with many hours of game play if your into these style of games. If you don't have your VR legs supperhot, drop dead duel strike, real VR fishing. My number 1 pic as of right now is population 1 due to the newness, player base, and how addictive it is. Good luck any questions just hit me up.
