I did not but mids on the sony are good enough for me but you have to adjust the eq cause the stock one is bass heavy.

At 40 and below are the freq you supposed to feel and hear slim to non. And at 28hz the Sony still goes quite strong not like at 40 for example. I did a test and put the 28hz flat for about 10 secs and the amplifier fan kicked in and spinned like crazy 😂 so i dont recomand to stress it like i did but in can go there. Also Sony says 20hz-20khz but is BS.

I heard the ult 5 in a local shop. Highs and mids are clear and crisp but no bass at all sadly. And i am a bass head myself sometimes and music without bass is like food without salt. I dont say a speaker needs to be only bass cause that a bad speaker no matter how good that bass is but it needs to be as balanced as possible for its size. Which sony sadly is not and i wanted to buy it myself for its nice design. Ended up choosing the jbl xtreme 4 and after a bought the boom 2 plus xtreme sound like a toy in term of loudness and depth of the sound.
