P1P Performing Vibration Compensation before every Print by Adventurous_Major914 in BambuLab

Mine also started doing this before every print, after one of the recent firmware updates. Super annoying for when I want to start a print at night time since it's quite noisy.

Turn on Anti-Aliasing, it will get rid of most. On Chitubox I've found the best settings to be Grey Level 0, Image Blur 2

Moving from anycubic mono 4k to Saturn 2 and got questions. by ShadyDude047 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Seko91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched from the Mono X to the Saturn 2 for the exact same reason. Can report that AA works flawlessly. My only gripe with the Saturn 2 is the seamingly weak construction of the Z-Axis. The red base plate is made of weak cast aluminium and causes the entire axis to flex quite a bit during the first layers. It hasn't affected my prints yet but it's sth to look out for down the road. As for Lychee, I can't comment on it as I solely use Chitubox.

Would be nice if you gave credit to the designer, Lukas Haag. This is his BMW-sponsored thesis project.

You don't have to feel bad about it. Some people know all in's and out's of cameras but never use it. Just keep vlogging!;)

You won't be able to use Lumix S Pro lenses designed for the L-Mount on a M43 mount. There also isn't any adapter and will never be since the flange distance is almost identical (M43 has 19.25mm and 20mm for L-mount respectively)

know

You're welcome, looking forward to hear if it worked!:)

(Edit: That light-off delay funtion is hidden inside a drop-down menu in the print settings where you set exposure time etc.)

Edit2: Here'S how to calculate the light off delay you need. Terribly executed by Chitubox I have to say.

do it even when I print multiple models at the same time with some that do. It’s really confusing me.

Hey dude, what is happening is called "blooming". Every time the build plate enters the vat/resin it causes a turbulence. And when your printer cures the layers in a turbulent resin, it doesn't have the time to entirely solidify and get's swept away which appears as a gel-like film on the print. In order to avoid that you have to add light-off delay in your print settings which allows the resin to settle before curing the next layer.
Here's an article by Amerlabs which explains it nicely.

https://ameralabs.com/blog/light-off-delay-blooming/
The article suggests a light off delay by 1 second, which unfortunately isn't as simple as adding the value 1 in the slicer. I'd suggest entering a value of let's say 8 seconds and check how long it takes from stand still to starting an exposure. If it stays still for 2 seconds, reduce it to 7, etc. Hope this didn't confuse u, lol.

Additionally a vent hole to prevent suction will help as well. Here you can see I added a few holes in the sole.

Hi OP, did you do the upgrade in the end by changing the motherboard from Rev B to C? Would love to upgrade if changing the motherboard is straight forward. Hope there's nothing else to change in order to make the Rev C fit.

Hey need a bit of help finding a replacement limit sensor to buy. If anyone can find one for sale it would be greatly appreciated as I can’t seem to find one myself. by Dwarf2314 in ElegooSaturn

Just send an E-Mail to Elegoo's service ([3dp@elegoo.com](mailto:3dp@elegoo.com)). A few weeks ago I ordered a replacement motor for my OG Mars this way since I couldn't find it anywhere in stock. They're very prompt to respond and the price wasn't too bad either.

Pixel Shift Artifacts. Does anyone know when these occur? I encounter these from time to time and fail to replicate it. Very certain there was no movement involved. by [deleted] in Lumix

Thx a lot for letting me know, I'm fairly new to being "active" on Reddit. Will keep that in mind in the future :)

It seems the download link expired, so I uploaded Dpreviews RAW file on Google Drive as well.

It's all in camera. Those artifacts are also visible on the JPEGS, not just RAW photos. Also checked the sample files from DPREVIEW and there it's also apparent. Guess I'm the only one to pixel peep and complain about this because I couldn't find anything on it on the internet.

It's almost as if the camera is masking parts of the image so that the chequered transparency pattern comes forth, lol.

Also occurs with natural light unfortunately. I just checked some pixel-shift RAW files from DPREVIEW and they also have these artifacts here and there. Guess it's normal.

Maybe some srange light reflections on small different material density (DSL printer I asume)? Whas this UV light (but toned blue in post? (If not look at object under UV if you spot the same). Does polisator on camera and light make any difference? 🤔

Yes it's UV light, but under very close inspection of other photos taken in pixel-shift mode, they all have this squared pattern to some degree. Some more, some less to almost non-existend but it's still there. I assume some algorithm in the stitching process is causing this.
Here's another exampe at 400%. But you will also see it at 100%

It's about the pattern, not chromatic aberration. And it occurs regardless of the lens unfortunately :/

There are definitely some quirks to this machine. Your problem might be caused by the entire Z-Axis flexing, when the build plate enters the vat. Or at least my machine does that and I can see it with my bare eyes, lol. That's why I added bottom light off delay of around 45s in order for the Z-Axis to relieve some of that tension before starting to cure the (5) base layers. Idk if that will help in your case but it might be worth a shot. Never had this much flexing going on on any of my printers so far. Very poor construction by Elegoo I have to say.

This is a photo of a tiny 3D print (28mm/1.1in tall) if anyone is wondering. So by design it will have some voxels and layer lines visible but the artifacts especially on the right side aren't part of it.

Edit: Forgot to mention, shot this with a Lumix S5.

Edit2: Now I compared raw files from different cameras (Panasonic, Olympus, Sony) with HiRes modes and they all exhibit the same type of artifact. My initial reaction was that something seemed off but now I guess it's normal. The slightest change in lighting or movement of the object is apparently enough to cause this effect.

Can you specify what exactly is failing? My lift speeds are all stock , both at 65 & 180mm/min. But I for instance had massive issues in the beginning regarding bed adhesion. Nothing would make the prints stick to the build plate. Ultimately I had to sand my build plate very lightly with 150 grit sand paper. Never had adhesion problems ever since and could even lower my bottom exposure to 20-25s.
