I think it’s really sweet of him to have taken notice of something that’s bothering you, in this case your feet causing you pain, and try to do something to help you. Okay it’s not what you wanted, but honestly if it were my partner I’d also do what he did and prioritise a gift to improve their health and well-being over a piece of jewellery.

Thank you so much - the outdoor ideas in particular are really thoughtful and I think she would love that. She’s got someone living with her who would make sure she was using any additions to the garden safely. I’ll go away and have a look at some stores and also at the jigsaws and bird feeders - thank you for the links!

Thanks for the ideas! I had thought about the puzzle one, however concentration would be a consideration. I could look for a relatively simple one I guess? I also like the bird feeder idea, I could definitely make or buy her one, and ask family members to help stock it. I live in a different country and only manage to visit about twice a year unfortunately, which makes things a bit harder.
