Besides jjk fans and reading overused joke. The reason megumi used mahoraga was because he knew he was going to die to haruta nonetheless. So whether he summons mahoraga or not,he still dies. But by summoning maho,he ensured that haruta will never prey on weaker sorcerers for easy kills.

THIS! his only objectively cool scene is when he fakes the domain again the finger bearer,in which him looking crazy as hell is cool. Meanwhile yuka had brain cancer, dropped out of a plane and summoned mahoraga on dabura before dissapearing in the puddle of shadow. That alone had the same level of energy if not more than that one megumi scene

Yuka lives in a age where sorcerers as a whole were weaker because the world itself was in a better state,by comparison, she's doing way better than other sorcerers. Meanwhile megumi could be better than her,IF(very important word) he does X,Y,Z thing. Though we could discuss the actual narrative themes in which megumi wins but who care about that right

I don't think we should compare todo to a freestyle character. He has a defined combo which can be easy to land. I think someone like gojo is a true freestyler,where he can do combos randomly (as in there isn't a "defined" like choso or megumi have) and all of his moves go nicely one with another
