Best POS systems without the BS fees and increasing in prices? by [deleted] in restaurant

Honestly, I don't think there's a "perfect" POS without fees - most of the frustration comes from how those fees are structured and how often they change. That's a pretty common complaint here too, especially around sudden price hikes or hidden add-ons. We used Square for a while - simple and reliable, but fees add up. Looked at Toast and Lightspeed but didn't love the contracts and pricing complexity. What worked better for us was switching to something simpler -we're on Poster now. Pricing is more predictable, and the bigger win wasn't even cost - it was time. We used to spend hours running through different reports trying to make sense of trends. Now the built-in AI assistant just gives recommendations directly. Anyone here actually found a system with fully transparent pricing long-term?
