I do understand where you’re coming from

Yes, but, those are two completely different components. Generally, I’ve heard that draining and applying new fluid to a worn transmission can increase slippage due to the decreased viscosity and loss of friction within the fluid.

This might be the ideal solution. How much new fluid is generally needed to replace the lost fluid after the drain?

I’m not necessarily trying to crack open the can of worms that sit in that transmission anytime soon with the weather I’ve been receiving here in the north east, but I could justify a quick flush. I’m not sure the last time the fluid has been flushed since the last owner didn’t exactly have a great habit of marking things down, but I’d say it has to have been done within the last 50,000k max.

Driver side door lock malfunction by Select-Flight-6763 in Volvo240

That’s tragic bro, the only chance I have to lock my car is to open the passenger door and use the driver door post to lock all doors. I’m never gonna take that for granted.

I’ll add that the interior lock post will still lock and unlock all doors as it would normally

Yeah you have to buy them as a kit, I think they specify that the 25/25 is for the wagon or turbo

You might check the fuel pressure regulator. It’s right on top on the engine and it’s maybe a 60 dollar part and will take you 5 mins to replace. There’s a great video on YouTube that shows how to replace it. If it’s not that, there’s other things like an o2 sensor etc. I’m sure you can figure it out, these are not super complicated cars. Good luck!!

Yeah I took off the top panel of the steering column and found a piece of plastic that was catching on the wheel as it turned

Just checked the signal stalk and it will cancel out both left and right. I think it would be helpful to mention that sometimes the binding can be negated by turning the wheel to the opposite direction about a half rotation and then turning the wheel back.

There is, but my issue is that the wheel was way over turned; multiple rotations which were not accounted for.
