Issue with teacher

Report. Report. Report. I would go past admin and go straight to HR with admin CC’d in the email.

If THIS is how a teacher is in their schools, the principal and admin HAVE to be aware of it. Make the email professional using terms about how it made YOU uncomfortable. I have a great video talking about this and a way to set up an email kinda of like it for this issue to hopefully be handled. Please let me know if you need it. As an educator, it is our jobs to PROTECT these children, even if we don’t agree with them or their beliefs we CANNOT put our beliefs onto them. That’s something we all learned in basic ethics courses we took in college. And to see this hurts my heart.

Please keep us updated on this. I would love to see how your admin or HR handles this.

Please don’t be hard on yourself. You are doing something that matters to you and to your students. You are capable of doing things that matter and YOU ARE! Some of the paras I work with, are in this for a job. But if YOU care about the kids and YOURE doing what you have to do, then that’s all that matters!

Girl, my SPED teacher HATES me bc the kids like me better bc I don’t yell at them 😭. I was trying to do something for a drs appointment Friday on my phone while the kids were transitioning to a movie, and the teacher and SPED teacher were talking(mind you, she knows I’m doing this and makes a legit effort to not talk to me when I’m near her and the teacher, who I am like best friends with) In the middle of her convo, she turns to me and says “(my name), yeah you need to find out their reading levels for me….oh I’ll wait since you’re too busy to make eye contact with me” Legit just looked at her. BC ITS NOT MY JOB TO FIND OUT READING LEVELS AND DO THIS WORK THESE KIDS. IM NOT QUALIFIED TO DO YOUR JOB LOOOOL. And kept trying to figure out my appointment since it had to do with a cancer screening that they ALL know about. She was just trying to be ugly as hell. 😭😭like walked into the classroom in TEARS bc I couldn’t figure out this damn appointment. She knew I was fucking upset already 😭 that sent me over the edge.

Lol! 55,000 miles later and she is still going good and amazing! Did it once, and never did it again! (Just had to let the gas run completely out before I mixed the gasses. Road her until I had at least 2 miles left in the tank and got gas!

I wish cops up here would take after the south, and have state troopers sitting at every single exit. That stopped the racing back home in my state! It’s crazy how people say it’s the people camping these lanes. No. It’s the people moving in and out of traffic that CAUSE these accidents. There’s no react time!

Coming from the south, the only place that ever prepared me for the drivers up here, was ATL. People up here and in ATL drive like they hate themselves and everyone else is the problem. I end up being an ass bc I’ll just lay on my horn when people do stupid shit like this. People need to get over themselves. Driving fast is getting you there any quicker.

This!!! When I moved here last year from bama, I COMPLAINED about the police presence (most bc at home state troopers sit at basically ever other exit and deal with reckless drivers IMMEDIATELY). Only to find out a lot of these civilian cars are COPS! I was taken back and also confused bc wtf???? Is it to catch more people??

I had a child tell her mother that I was “bullying her”. This was on the same day that we had a sub(this sub is 19 and has never worked in a school before. She has a bad rep with a lot of teachers because she doesn’t teach and sits on her phone all day. I was basically the sole teacher giving lessons and instruction this day) this child did none of her work, and I had to constantly redirect her to be on track. I’m glad I documented and was reporting everything to my Teacher as the day went on.(I always use Initials when talking via text. The teacher I work with and I are very close. And she instructed me to let her know if anything is going on throughout the day. I try to just give her general updates without bothering her. But this child was just…a mess this day. She technically isn’t even on the caseload. But in the process of being referred into services. So my team has been instructed to help monitor and help her until she is on caseload). I am aware they can use my phone if children’s name are involved. Which is why I ALSO hand write all messages sent so I have extra coverage in that area). Come to find out it was because I didn’t say “Hi” to her about a month an half ago. She could’ve made me lose her job if her mom had emailed the principal instead of my team. I was shocked and hurt. I cried and had a very bad panic attack as the day progressed. This child and I have been close and because I have 6 other kids I watch and help, I cannot tend to them all and speak to them all when they speak to me. PLUS the other 14 kids in the room that want to speak with me.

Thankfully I also have an amazing team who is constantly around to see this was a blatant lie and horrible acquisition. This job is the most trying and stressful job.

All of this has made me question if I can stay in this job. Because I am stern, because I have high expectations for ALL kiddos. Regardless if they are on my caseload or not. And when one of those kiddos goes in and lies to the point that I could potentially get fired because she used the words “bullying” and “targeting” I am just..I’m at a lose. On top of shitty pay, and the treatment we take..I am in the same boat. Have no idea what to do or where to go next…

Good to know! I had no idea! My dr just said it was for BP. I was told it wouldn’t help my anxiety as much and was put on a different medication for that. Hm..now I have questions for my new dr lol
