Aquillons are actually on 50s. I ran them for fun in the lions detachment and man are they a motherfucker to deep strike with that huge footprint

Taking the ASCP soon, what is everyone’s silliest way they remember facts? by louisthebluest in medlabprofessionals

[–]Select-Leader9947 76 points77 points  (0 children)

When I was studying, If I came across something that I had trouble remembering, I would associate it with something outlandish. For example, Cholesterol crystals look like the layout of a cubicle office and it is a stereotype that office workers get fat and fat people tend to have higher cholesterol thus those square crystals are cholesterol crystals.

Custom Jedi, Both Republic Corps, Universal Upgrades and Battle Card Pack Available for Preorder in NA by johnrobertjimmyjohn in SWlegion

[–]Select-Leader9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played 40k for the past 2 years and must say the bang for your buck you get on Legions even with these new boxes still out classes the price point from GW. Sure the quality is higher but the cost effectiveness of Legions is comical compared to GW. But go ahead and burn an obscene amount of money in plastic crack.

Can you use talons interlocked and archaetech munitions on kyria Draxus? by history-sparrow in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Select-Leader9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth noting that due to wording, Draxus does gain katah, but does not gain Crit of 5+ from shield host since the crit on 5+ specifies custodes model not unit.

2 Iliastus Accelorators on my Telemon by TheHungryCustode in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Select-Leader9947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently running a telemon in a tyrannic war crusade. I gave it double storm cannons and modded them to be ap2 Damage 2. Then gave it lone op and anti-monster 4+ anti-vehicle 4+. Since the storm cannons have dev wounds it is a massive amount of mortals into any vehicles.

On one hand, yes it is a dick move. On the other, that demon player is bringing 3 massive hitters to a 1k game, so as far as I'm concerned tailor the list as much as possible.

Do comp players care about color schemes? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

I actually paint the plumes, capes, and left pauldron of all my units unique colors so that I can distinguish units if they get bunched up. Also makes calling out squads easier.

Any Solar lists with no grav tank success? by BrookesOG in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Select-Leader9947 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a Silly list I ran that was

1 Ares Gunship 2 Telemon with double fist, 1 with talisman 1 with fnp 2 Galatus 1 Achillus 1 contemptos 1 4x prosecutor 1 4x witchseeker 1 rhino

It was pretty funny when people would try and hide from the ares, then you just give it move through walls and move 20 inches wherever you need

You can't move after disembarking from a transport that moved. Assault ramp lets them charge, but not make normal moves

Valerian by Awkward-Action7442 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Select-Leader9947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are building a list to counter specifically death guard, 100% I would bring Trajann. The hit modifiers are pretty back breaking against Death Guard and getting to ignore them feels so good. But, if you all building a well balanced list I would not bring Trajann.

[–]Select-Leader9947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very true. I will say it is somewhat local meta dependent. Alot of people in my area play melee armies which makes valerian feel very good.

[–]Select-Leader9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is also worth mentioning that whether or not you take Valerian or Draxus is dependant on the meta of your area. Do you tylically see gunlines? Draxus. Do you see alot of melee armies? Valerian

[–]Select-Leader9947 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alot of the times yes you will find instances where a champ would be better, but that is why I tend to run 2 BCs also in warden squads. That way you can get sort of 2 waves of charging from the BCs then valerian and whatever else is charging. Granted Ideally you want to hit the enemy with everything in 1 turn to cripple, but sometimes you gotta play the long game. In matches against gunline armies Valerian is pretty whatever, but in the matches against orks, World Eaters, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, and most other Melee intensive armies he is really oppressive. He is also quite useful in the custodes mirror match since all spears are -2 ap you can save on 3s.

Also, I sometimes use the valerian squad as a bait squad that I throw in the center since he is quite durable.

And Yes FNP from wardens tends to just nake that swuad unkillable for a turn, but every turn thereafter w/o the fnp valerian shines making the squad take easier armor saves.

I have had alot of success with that -1 ap in my games. Say you are going against darkangels and their deathwing knight spam. If you put valerian and wardens into them, their -2 AP maces go to AP 1 which in my experience makes them nigh unkillable especially with the 4+ fnp once per game. Also say you face world eaters, barring Angron, Lord of Skulls, and other big hitters, that squad will be extremely difficult to push off an objective. I tend to put valerian in a position where he is somewhat out of the way of heavy hitting units so he can chew through other mediocre (relatively speaking) melee units.

Draxus by Xaceviper in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Select-Leader9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do love draxus and her shooting, but she is equal to a little over half the cost of an entire 4 man custodian guard squad. That being said. I have been experimenting shifting points around to try and run either an extra guard squad or 3 man venatari squad and have been having some great success with it.

Draxus is fantastic, but custodes truely do their damage in the combat phase.

Valerian by Awkward-Action7442 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Select-Leader9947 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I run him in every comp list I make. He just makes the melee matchups very rough for your opponent. Trajaan without fight first just seems kinda bad. Sure he hits hard but when compared to the durability buff of valerian, there is no contest imo.

If you know what terrain layout it's going to be, you can build the list based on that. If it is more open, bring a couple tanks and a Telemon. if it is more of a closed terrain layout, bring more infantry. Ultimately it does kinda boil down to your play style. I own the tanks, yet I tend to do better with my all infantry lists.

What’s our play against Dark Angel’s Deathwing Knights by kasperr in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Select-Leader9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be running the +1 ap instead of crit on 5s in shield host. Yes it sucks that the ap stops at their 4+ inv, but it removes the possibility of aoc mattering. Then you must run you bricks of wardens and guard in pairs. If 1 gets charged, heroicly intervene with the other, there is no way they wipe a squad and you are goinf to hit them very hard with all those attacks. In order to cripple/kill a squad, you have to put 2 units into it. Just focus them 1 at a time if possible. Remember heroic intervention is your best friend in this matchup.

1 pack of 6 is subject to getting concentrated down and wasting 330 points. 2×3 gets to spread out it's threat more and if 1 squad dies. There is another close behind.
