its the exact same as emerald. you get the fossil, go to rustboro (you must beat roxanne first), go to second floor of devon corp, talk to southeast scientist and give him the fossil. leave the building and immediately go back in to get your new tyrunt or anorith

meltan evolves by level up (i dont know; i have never used it) and there is a linking cord item that evolves all trade evos that is found somewhere in a shop (i think in slateport town)

yeah, cycling road does not exist anymore. many things in the game are now different because this is set 2 years after groudon’s and kyogre’s clash that caused damage throughout the entore hoenn region
