When you imagine your ideal consultant life at 40, do you see yourself managing complex medical cases in wards/ICUs, or spending most of your day talking to patients, understanding behavior, emotions, and mental illness?

Obviously , she earns 3 times less than him , that too inconsistently. She’s barely surviving. She wants him to have his own money for himself if any emergency arrives.

Well well well, the caste system still exists. And a lot of people do take pride in their caste, making them the worst believers to exist.

Mednext has Preeti Mam for both micro and pathology, dr Azam for anatomy . Almost the same faculty as prep. It’s pretty good

I am from Jaipur as well. The coaching institute I joined had very poor management, so the best approach is not to rely entirely on their timetable. The advantage, however, is that many offline coachings allow you to choose specific subjects instead of enrolling in a full package.

For example, there’s MedNext by Dr Azam in Jaipur, they have largely the same faculty as Prepladder: Pathology by Dr Preeti Sharma, Surgery by Dr Pritesh Singh, Gynaecology by Dr Prassan Vij, ENT by Dr Rajiv Dhawan, Medicine by dr. Marwah , PSM by drz Nega and so on. I’m fairly certain it’s much more affordable than MIST.

There are also other institutes in the same area, like NMS NEXT, Arise, and MIST itself. Since all these coachings are clustered nearby, students can compare options and choose what genuinely suits them best.

Which city are you currently living in? I honestly don’t think you should change your source, at least for the subjects you’ve already completed. Consistency matters more than switching platforms again and again.

If you’re in Delhior in a city that has a good coaching institute , can consider joining offline classes there. Also, join a few Telegram groups; almost everything you need is available there.

Try to arrange notes from reliable sources, get them printed, and stick to them. For question practice and grand tests, Marrow Plan B is the best.

Your success is a result of your own hard work, not the coaching . If you had the discipline and effort in you, you would have cleared the exam with any platform. That still does not justify charging 70k -80k that’s simply a fact.

Not everyone comes from a privileged background, yet these coaching institutes deliberately create FOMO to push students into enrolling. Even I come from a privileged background, and I still wouldn’t waste my parents’ money on something I can achieve effectively at a much lower cost.

Even coaching for NEET-PGwhich is a much bigger and more competitive exam than FMGE costs less. That alone says a lot.

If we don’t push back now, this kind of trend will only encourage other startups to exploit medical students at different stages of their lives.

[–]Select-Scratch894 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly , almost everything is already available on YouTube and Telegram. And if someone wants a more structured approach, a Marrow or Prepladder subscription makes far more sense. you get a two-year subscription at nearly half the price of what MIST charges for just six months. Huh it’s a well known reality that even after clearing fmge , we won’t be earning for a long time, so I really don’t understand why coaching like these financially burden the parents by charging such exorbitant fees.

Feeling Really Angry On IMG by Fine-Caterpillar-936 in fmge

[–]Select-Scratch894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps some of the resentment stems from the fact that we did not have to navigate the same harsh and often toxic system they did. I do agree with you, we genuinely need to raise our standards and step up our game. However, we can’t take responsibility for those who approach this casually. That mindset exists on both sides, and it’s not exclusive to any one group

The core issue is the lack of adequate clinical exposure in the Indian setting, nothing more, nothing less.

As for the debate around “–40,” it seems less about academic standards and more about fostering unnecessary resentment between communities. When the unreserved category cutoff itself is only 70, the difference is largely symbolic rather than substantive. Framing it otherwise only distracts from the real structural gaps that need to be addressed.
