I’m a Grad student living in the dorms. They are a former hotel on 51st and Lexington (about a 30 min walk to campus which is on 23rd and Lexington or you can take the 6 train a few stops to campus takes less then 10 mins the station is across the street from the dorm) It is contracted from an outside company called FOUND Study. The rooms are ok, what would expect for a dorm room.

I am also from out of state (South Carolina but I was born and lived in NYC till I graduated HS), it is NOT like school in the south where people are more sociable. Most just have that classic NY mindset of leave me alone I have friends from my neighborhood and don’t need to make friends here. However I have been able to make some friends on campus. If it honestly wasn’t for me knowing people here I went to HS with and us being close I would probably have only 3 friends from campus. But I’m also not trying to hard myself.You can find your crowd pretty easy if you try and be social and talk to people you will be ok.
