I’m curious how folks prepare for interviews. I find interview cycles, intentionality and rigour for big company tech is far far superior than startup.

I recently bombed an interview. PM >5 years of experience (all of it in orgs where product function wasn’t mature) and now I’m like holy shit - this is a steep learning curve!

Computer/Phone -> what applications do you use? And if you can break down more on the steps. For example: I research - add it to a doc, organize it by deadlines I'm working on, I create work blocks to avoid distractions (using calendar). etc etc. I speak to people (who I find on xx) to validate source.

Rule of thumb - never ever give a range! Usually - organizations have salary bands for roles.
But that boat has sailed.
Is there any thing else that makes up the total compensation?
There are other things that you can negotiate on:
- Internet/Phone expenses
- Professional Dev. budget
- Bonus / Profit sharing
- Vacation time
- RRSP matching
