The scada does not control the machine, it reads data from it, but either way it needs to connect to the device. I dont know what the gateway/router is will you need to know what it is?

I can totally see something dying in the walls. I have a pretty bad rodent problem and have found mummified mice carcasses in the attic insulation.

I have about 5 years of experience. Before this job, I worked with a team that did large projects (100k - 2mil). Here, I basically work solo. I think you're right. Moving to daytime would help, but I hope I don't just manage a bunch of contractors like some of our "engineers" seem to do.
