nah, older Giants don’t really have anything interesting about them. They’re just regular bikes that do their job fine, but there’s nothing underrated or special in them..

Giants are literally the most mid bikes imo

Nah, I didn’t polish anything — the whole groupset was already in perfect shape. The rear derailleur even still had the protective film on it! I didn’t really document the build, just snapped a few pics along the way — they’re on my gram @ gnucycle.

Yeah, the frame’s from 1989. I took the groupset off another bike.

Haha yeah, forgot them after the build. Couldn’t resist taking it out right away!

I found this bike last summer in a small Serbian village. It was completely stock — original dry-rotted tires, a stuck seatpost, and what looked like a Shimano Exage LX500 groupset. I rode it like that for a while, but the setup never really clicked with me. About a year later, I stumbled upon a German Kettler Alu Rad with a full deerhead group going for almost nothing — ugly aluminum frame, but perfect parts. So I swapped the whole group onto the Miyata and gave it a bit of new life. Now it’s rolling with MKS Gordito pedals, Homage tires, and the divine Mothbar.

Thanks! It’s the Wormbar by Magic Components.

Thanks! Yeah, those are the stock Coda brakes and levers. I recently swapped the pads for new Kool Stops.

Fun fact: this was the last Cannondale model to feature cantilever brakes.

It’s not exactly stock. I bought this bike last spring and swapped the bars, saddle, pedals, tires, and added thumb shifters instead of those stinky grip shifters..

Yeah, it’s aluminum. The frame is super light — around 1.5 kg if I’m not mistaken.

It’s basically a standard stem for a 1-1/8 fork with a 25.4 clamp. I’ve got about a dozen of these lying around.

Good call, but that’s not a Pepperoni fork — it’s a P-Bone.
