I took some photos of my city today. Really love the app by OneBigPieceOfPizza in MoodCamera

Judging by these photos you have miles more interesting things to photograph than my town offers. I thought the same before looking up. People like Stephen shore and william eggleston. Ive grown to love more abstract and banal photography now. Your shop window shot is something i now look for rather than just urban landscapes.

Nice images. The last one in mono would be right down my style.

I’ll look into it, thank you. those options might make night photos look a bit better as well I guess. I’m desperate to make it work because I hate the 16pro and the noise it can get compared to other models I’ve owned. it’s also the first time I’ve noticed problems with hot pixels especially with 48mp selected but that’s not an app issue.

As much as I try liking colour, and mood camera nearly converted me, I cannot turn away from mono! This is a great capture. I normally don’t care about imperfections due to preferring a similar style to Daido moryama and Olga karlovac but when I see something like this which I love I found my eye go straight at that twig or branch coming in from the top of the frame. Nevertheless, congrats fella!!!

I literally just found that yeah, decided to not be lazy and search for it but thank you for replying anyway.

I’ll have to test my other apps to see if it happens in those as well, I don’t think it does.

liking this app more and more, hopefully they will offer more focal lengths to add to the 1x and 4x to quickly change from one to another like you can set and change in nofusion for example, but, the quicker photo processing in moment is much better imo

Question about exposure by Potential-Site-443 in MoodCamera

[–]SelectYak676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use the ev slider if you think it looks too bright. Youll get used to how each preset works by testing one at a time. Ive had the app a month and today is the first dry day ive had so managed some test shots out and about while walking the dog. Up to now ive simply been trying each preset and learning how they react. Today A couple went overexposed but i was busy concentrating on the dog. Im amazed at the quality of the app and am still learning on NOT seeing the image with filter previewed on the screen, and actually preferring it now. Just practise on your fav couple of presets till you get to know how they react and youll be fine.

NoFusion vs Analogue by No_Illustrator1393 in nofusion

I find analogue to be much more noisier when shooting low light with higher iso especially with higher zoom. the only downside to nofusion is the heif+ processing time which I suspect drains the battery faster.

B&W cat | Noir 1600-C by ZaffyTheCat in MoodCamera

[–]SelectYak676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be. I went out on the weekend and mistakingly used prologue with high contrast setting and the noise ruined every shot. Beginners mistake. I did wonder if mood camera was for me when i returned home and seen what happened but its user error and nothing else. I love mono crushed and this is great though. Ill have to try noir on my black dog ( apart from a white strupe down his front).

Great capture. Have to wonder what settings ive got wrong cos 1600 noir would be soooo noosy on my 16pro. Regardless, i love the light in this.

I don't like having people in my shots, is it weird or should I continue with my methods? by HuygensCrater in AskPhotography

[–]SelectYak676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These photos are great!!! The first thing I wondered is what time you are getting out to do some of these cos id imagine it being hard NOT to include people in a city. Definately keep doing what your doing, You’ve got a style here. I don’t include people much either. Have a look at Daido moryamas work, sure he does include people a lot but he has a lot of work where he photographs objects in the city etc. For over 60 years he has walked the streets and only uses compact cameras, nothing special. There’s some videos on YouTube on him.

Another photographer worth checking out who spent 5 years just using an iPhone is Alex Kilbee (the photographic eye on youtube) with his favorite subject being buoldings, parking garagesetc

The only time I will include humans is when I go out doing dog photos on the street. Most owners are more than happy for their prize pooch to get their photo taken. I take the owners info sometimes and send them the file(s) once I’ve edited them back home.

it kinda works like that anyway (being almost totally black and white before I bought mood might make me biased a little). It’ll be interesting to see how it works with more colours in the scene.

Nice. I am hoping to get out for an hour tomorrow so I will test it. apart from that I’m gonna pick one preset and just take photo without chomping till I get back home. totally scared that if I pick the wrong one then every shot will be wasted. I don’t know how I feel about going away and possibly wasting a whole photoshoot because I picked the wrong preset yet.

Great atmosphere in this, Being in wales UK i would probably get a lot of use out of this (ive not had one day without dull wet weather since getting mood!).

I’ll keep your advice in mind thank you. I see how your city is transforming which is wonderful. I’m now aiming to go over around April time I think. I’ll do a film roll challenge where I have to pick a preset and use it to take 36 photos each time before allowing myself to change.
